Hinako Ashihara’s manga revolves around the lives of two curious women. Kyōko, a diligent office worker in the accounting department, appears to be an ordinary woman in her forties. However, she hides a glamorous secret life as a belly dancer named Sali. On the other hand, there is Akari, a charming 23-year-old temporary worker and Kyōko’s co-worker.
Additional cast members include:
Gōki Maeda as Kazuki Konishi Katsuya Maiguma as Kōsuke Shōno Ken Yasuda as Keito Miyoshi Kazuma Kawamura (The Rampage from Exile Tribe) as Shingo Nakahara
In her relentless pursuit of marriage, Akari believes that youth and cuteness are her only assets, attending a lot of concerts as she feels time slipping away, while at the same time struggling with emptiness and loneliness. Their worlds collide when an unexpected event reveals Kyōko’s hidden talents and Akari gradually finds herself admiring her mysterious colleague.
Ashihara introduced this fascinating manga in Shogakukan’s Anikei Petite Comic magazine in 2018, and it continues to fascinate readers to this day. Just this week, Shogakukan released the manga’s seventh volume.
Notably, Viz Media previously delighted English-speaking readers with Ashihara’s work, releasing the 10-volume “Sand Chronicles” manga.

Ashihara’s artistic prowess was also the inspiration for the live-action television series adapted from the manga “Piece” in 2012.
