The first teaser for the third season of The Rising of the Shield Hero has been released.
Posted on the anime’s official Twitter account, the trailer promises a story brimming with action and mystery as the plot seems to revolve around Naofumi trying to find three other Cardinal Heroes who have gone missing. The video confirms that The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 will premiere in October as part of the Fall 2023 anime series.

The teaser also reveals many members of the creative team who will bring The Rise of the Shield Hero Season 3 to life. Hitoshi Haga (Star Wars: Visions) has taken over directing duties from Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!) with Keigo Koyanagi (Made in Abyss) overseeing the series’ composition, Kevin Penkin ( Tower of God) is composing the music, and Franziska van Wulfen (Bocchi the Rock!), Masahiro Suwa (The World Only God Knows) and Sana Komatsu (Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld) are designing the characters.
Writer Aneko Yusagi first published The Rising of the Shield Hero on the user-created website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2012 before publisher Media Factory acquired the distribution rights to the isekai light novel series; To date, 22 volumes of content have been released. A manga adaptation by Aiya Kyū began in 2014, and together, the light novel and manga have sold over six million copies in Japan.

The Rising of the Shield Hero tells the story of a laid-back college student named Naofumi who is transported to a fantasy world to become one of its four new Cardinal Heroes. However, after a major betrayal early on in her journey, Naofumi becomes a downtrodden. The first season of the anime adaptation by studio Kinema Citrus premiered in January 2019. While the series received widespread criticism in North America for its depiction of slavery and its false use of rape allegations in storyline, The Rising of the Shield Hero quickly became one of them. among the most popular entries in the isekai genre and quickly got the green light for two more seasons. Season 2, co-produced by animation company DR Movie, will air as part of the spring 2022 anime series.
