Movie licensors GKIDS, Anime Ltd. and Charades have now revealed the international release date for The Colors Inside (Kiminoiro), animated by Science Saru and helmed by acclaimed A Silent Voice anime director Naoko Yamada.
In winter 2024, GKIDS will distribute The Colors Inside in North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand, while Anime Ltd. acquired the film for the UK, Ireland and all of Europe. PLAION PICTURES will handle Italian and German speaking territories. Meanwhile, GKIDS and Anime LTD have partnered with Charades to manage sales for the rest of Europe, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. The film will premiere in Japan on August 30, 2024 and will have its world premiere at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival from June 9 to 15. The Colors Inside is a new anime feature film by Science Saru
The Colors Inside features an ensemble cast, including Yamada who directed A Silent Voice and The Heike Story, reuniting with renowned animation studio Science Saru for this upcoming title. Story Inc. producer Genki Kawamura. (Your Name., Weathering With You, Suzume) also participated in the film to plan and produce. Screenwriter Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden) wrote the script and longtime Science SARU collaborator Kensuke Ushio of Chainsaw Man and A Silent Voice composed the music. Frequent SARU Science SARU collaborator Takashi Kojima, who most recently worked with director Yamada on The Heike Story, joined the production as character designer and animation director.

A Silent Voice captured the hearts of anime fans in 2016, telling an emotional story of bullied-turned-reformist Shoya Ishida.
