After a disappointing beta released last July, Concord – the masterpiece that Sony placed a lot of expectations on – was also released on August 23 with the style of a completely new 5v5 hero shooter. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse with dismal player numbers and just about 10 days after its release, Concord was immediately shut down on September 6 and the digital and physical versions of the game All games will be discontinued and all money will be refunded to the player.
But recently, a gamer with the nickname Canary 2002 received a completely free copy of the Concord game disc.
The thing is, after purchasing Concord online from Walmart, this guy received a notification that his order would be delayed by 2 days. Some time after this delay, Walmart canceled the Canary 2002 order and sent a refund to the user. Strangely, right after that, a Concord PlayStation 5 game disc was sent to his address.
Notably, not only Canary 2002, but also some gamers who ordered through Walmart have encountered similar situations.
As a result, the money has been refunded, but the goods still reach these players. From not having to pay for a game with poor quality, Canary 2002 and those who benefited from it even made a fortune. Remember that after Concord closed, the physical disc versions of the game suddenly became “limited” goods, limited edition and are currently being sold on eBay at sky-high prices. The average price is $150 (about 4 million VND). The most expensive price being offered for the Concord physical disc version is up to $25,000 – a number that no one will probably spend money to own.
It should be noted that Concord cannot be played with a physical copy, as the servers are offline and the game does not have an offline single-player component. It is also unknown what the future of Concord is when this game can completely return in the future, and most recently was adapted into an episode of Amazon's Secret Level series.
