Transformers' latest collaboration crosses over robots in disguise with an iconic Japanese car company. The new Transformers x Bingo Sports figure allows fans to collect Optimus Prime, who has the ability to transform and roll like never before.
Based on designs by the company Bingo Sports, this new Transformer is one of many new releases celebrating the franchise's 40th anniversary. Giving Autobot leader Optimus Prime a quick makeover, the toy and vehicle based on it showcase the influence of the Transformers ethos. This includes participation in the Super GT Japan Cup, potentially making Transformers a winning franchise like never before.

Bingo Sports introduces a new version of Transformers' Optimus Prime
The Bingo Sports collaboration includes a real-life sports car — the Chevy Corvette C7 GT3-R — based on Optimus Prime himself. This car will participate in the Super GT Japan Cup racing event in June and August 2024, and even have a racing team representing the Autobot leader. The driver's suit will be decorated with Transformers-themed imagery, featuring Optimus Prime and his Decepticon rival Galvatron (an upgraded form of Megatron).
Along with the actual vehicle, Takara Tomy – the Japanese equivalent of Hasbro that produces Transformers in Japan – is producing a corresponding figure. Transforming into a C7 Corvette, this Optimus Prime toy appears to be a heavy retooling of the Transformers Studio Series figure for Age of Extinction Crosshairs (who transformed into the same car). It's unclear how much or where this figure will retail for, but it should be released later this year.

Transformers is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the franchise's 40th anniversary
Along with the race car and its action figure, there's a lot going on with the Transformers franchise as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. These festivities include special screenings of the first few episodes of The Transformers on the big screen, along with some new action figure and toy releases. Examples of the latter include comic-based variations of the Shockwave and Grimlock toys, along with a crossover toy from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Skybound, publisher of the current Transformers “Energon Universe” comics, will release a new compendium of the original Marvel Comics Transformers series in the fourth quarter of 2024.
On the anime merchandise front, Takara Tomy just revealed the upcoming Transformers: Masterpiece God Ginrai figure from the Transformers: Super-God Masterforce series. Movie fans can also look forward to the release of the animated film Transformers One. A prequel set on Cybertron, the film will detail the early days of rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron.
