Needless to say deck of cards is the most iconic sword runner in the franchise’s history, but that doesn’t mean he’s the toughest, as that honor goes to another member of the unit, who so bad he makes Deckard look pathetic .
Rick Deckard made his first appearance in 1982’s Blade Runner. In the film, he was tasked with finding and disbanding a small group of Copiers that had gone rogue and were hunting their creator, Tyrell of the Tyrell Corporation. Deckard is assigned the top secret mission of protecting this man from harm by stopping these Copyers before it’s too late. Unfortunately, Deckard arrived too late and the Copyman coldly killed Tyrell. However, Deckard still succeeds in weeding out every Copier who became Rogue (except for Roy, who had just reached the end of his life). While his overall mission was a failure, Deckard still proved his mettle by retiring several Copywriters before the film’s climax. But, even those achievements can’t compare to Blade Runner’s most intense and highly skilled Blade Runner: Black Lotus: Brook Marlowe.
Blade Runner: Black Lotus introduces the toughest Blade Runner: Marlowe
In Blade Runner: Black Lotus episode 6 (written by Margaret Dunlap, directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki), Replicant Elle broke into the homes of two ‘Doll Hunt’ participants and captured one of them as a child. believe. . The ‘Doll Hunt’ is when a small group of prominent members of society hunt down a group of unwitting Duplicates – including Elle. After Elle survived, she followed all of them, and her quest for revenge brought her here. What Elle didn’t expect, however, was that she was being watched by a Blade Runner named Brook Marlowe, who broke into this fortified house and attacked Elle without hesitation. This episode sees the two of them engaging in an epic battle, and ultimately, both unsuccessfully trying to kill the other – which is actually a lot more impressive on Marlowe’s part than it looks. .
Elle only survived the ‘Doll Hunt’ because she wasn’t like the other Duplicates being hunted down. They were designed by Niander Wallace, Jr. to depend on humans, but Elle was designed to be an adept assassin. The plan of Niander Wallace Jr. was for Elle to assassinate his father – along with these others to cover up the assassination plan – in order to take over the company, and his despicable plan worked. Elle proves that there isn’t a person she can’t get over (literally). Elle can dodge gunfire and easily take on a team of seasoned assassins, but she can’t kill Marlowe. Marlowe is on par with Elle, which is crazy considering Elle is a super strong, super fast Regenerator who was specially created to be an adept killer, while Marlowe is just an ordinary Blade Runner of human.
While Deckard was able to take out multiple Duplicates in a single movie, he lost his fight against Roy – a dying Duplicator who had lost his mind. Meanwhile, Marlowe is up against the most dangerous Clone in the sword runner history, and in the process, make deck of cards looks absolutely pathetic by comparison.
