As previously announced, Linked Horizon has returned with the opening and theme songs of the final episode of Attack on Titan. The final episode aired today as an 85-minute special. The episodic version of the final episode (including the two specials) will feature the opening “Saigo no Kyojin/The Last Titan,” which you can listen to below:

The theme song, “Nisennen… Moshiku wa… Nimannengo no Kimi e…/Two Thousand Years… Or… 20,000 Years From Now…” follows SiM’s “Under the Tree,” which was used in the previous special. Ai Higuchi will also return with a new ending theme.
Anime Attack on Titan ends its 10-year long run with this installment from studio MAPPA. The anime is based on the manga by Hajime Isayama serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from 2009 to 2021. The manga ended in April 2021 after 139 chapters, compiled into 34 volumes. The final, 34th volume debuted in June 2021. The manga was adapted into an anime by WIT Studio in 2013. Season 2 debuted in 2017, followed by a third season divided into two parts. The first season aired in the summer of 2018, while the second season began in April 2019. Studio MAPPA took over the franchise for the 4th season, titled Attack on Titan’s Final Season. The series began airing in December 2020 and has a total of 16 episodes. After finishing airing in March 2021, Season 2 was announced. Attack on Titan Season 2 finally began last January. The final season was also divided into two: the first part premiered in March this year as Attack on Titan The Final Season: The Final Chapters.
To celebrate the anime’s conclusion, the series will host a screening of the Attack on Titan: After Party online event on November 5. The event will feature 17 fun things for fans to enjoy – from cast interviews come to chat with staff, including Yuichiro Hayashi, Hiroyuki Sawano, Shintaro Kawakubo (manga editor), etc. Tickets are currently on sale for 3000 JPY.
