An anime television adaptation of the manga The Barbarian's Bride (Himekishi wa Barbaroi no Yome) will air in 2025. A trailer and visuals have been released.
Noriaki Kotoba's manga is serialized in Kodansha Shonen Magazine's Bessatsu and will release its eighth tankoubon volume on October 8. K MANGA publishes it digitally as The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King, while the physical release from Seven Seas Entertainment will be out on October 15. The latter describes the premise as:
A captured knight is betrothed to the leader of the very tribe she is sent to fight in this fantasy manga.
Serafina de Lavillant, the strongest female knight in the West, is sent to conquer the barbarian tribes of the East. But when her mission fails spectacularly, she is captured alive and imprisoned. Humiliated and frightened by the terrible torture she would have to endure, she asked to be executed. To her surprise, instead of tearing her limbs apart, the tribal leader asked her to marry him! Will Serafina face a cruel and abusive arranged marriage? Or will she discover that these tribes are not as savage as she believed?
