There is no shortage of increasingly powerful characters in Dragon ball continuity, far beyond the scope of the main characters alone. The series has a bit of a controversial reputation when it comes to introducing a super-strong villain in any installment, only for them to be defeated by Goku shortly after. While that certainly happened, the series has evolved far beyond that story, as the Z-Fighters no longer have to face earthly warlords or intergalactic conquerors, but are literal gods, as well as wielders of the same powers as familiar Dragon Ball heroes. hard to understand.
The current continuity of Dragon Ball takes place in the Dragon Ball Super series by Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou. This series took several characters from the original and elevated them to the next level – not just Goku and Vegeta. Not only that, Super also introduces fans to completely new characters, most of whom are so powerful that familiar Saiyan warriors may never be able to match them. That being said, the series is also notorious for rapidly changing and/or fluctuating one’s power level depending on the story, making it nearly impossible to rank specific powers. However, with the current state of Dragon Ball Super, it can be confidently affirmed that these Top 10 characters are the strongest characters of Dragon Ball.
10 piccolos
Specifically Orange Piccolo in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (as well as the current manga), this character channels the divine ki given to him by the eternal dragon Shenron. It is widely accepted (and confirmed by Akira Toriyama) that this transformation puts Piccolo on par with the likes of Goku and Vegeta, though no one knows how official that source is. to that effect until fans see their power level appropriately during training/combat.
9 Gohan
Like Piccolo, Gohan gets a major upgrade in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero in the form of Beast Gohan (or Beast Gohan). Just like Orange Piccolo, Beast Gohan is said to be on par with Goku and Vegeta, with his full power said to even surpass them. However, the reason Gohan is one spot ahead of Piccolo on this list is because he put the final nail in Cell Max’s proverbial coffin that Piccolo didn’t, though it’s still safe to assume a fight between they will not be able to happen.
8 plants
No stranger to sudden spikes in power after years of hard training, Vegeta broke the barrier of Super Saiyan numbers and even magical transformations like Super Saiyan Blue, when he found a way Harnessing the very power of Destruction – like a God Destroyer. This is called Ultra Ego, a state where each attack only makes him stronger and he doesn’t need to channel ki to destroy things, Vegeta can simply have them destroyed with Hakai. However, Vegeta has not yet mastered this state one bit and has a long way to go before he can match some of the other entries on this list.
7 Goku
Just as Vegeta unlocked the Ultra Ego by channeling the power of the God of Destruction, Goku also unlocked the power usually reserved for gods: Ultra Instinct. Ultra Instinct is an angelic state that allows one’s body to move autonomously, making the warrior wielding it absolutely untouchable. This is the angelic power taught to Goku by Whis himself, just like Lord Beerus taught Vegeta Ultra Ego. However, Goku has a slight advantage over Vegeta, as he uses Ultra Instinct much better than Vegeta with Ultra Ego. In addition, the two are very close in terms of power expansion – perhaps the closest they have ever been.
6 Broly
While Goku and Vegeta were exploring alternative paths of power beyond what was offered by their own Saiyan heritage, Broly truly rose through the power of his people. As a Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly has access to primordial Saiyan powers that Goku and Vegeta do not, and that power makes him practically unstoppable. Even Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta were not enough to defeat Broly, in the end it took SSJBlue Gogeta to defeat Broly – as shown in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In fact, Broly is so powerful that Lord Beerus is unwilling to let him train in his world for fear of the damage he will cause. A literal God of Destruction is nervous around Broly, which is perhaps the most notable aspect of his power.
5 Frieza
A relatively new transformation for the classic DBZ baddie, Frieza debuted his ‘Black Frieza’ form in Dragon Ball Super chapter 87, and he immediately proved his superiority. In this chapter, Black Frieza took a shot at both Goku and Vegeta while they were in their godly states of Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego, respectively. Even Broly couldn’t do something like that. In fact, the whole reason Goku, Vegeta, and Broly are currently training in Beerus’s world is to gain enough strength to challenge Black Frieza, and based on the events of this chapter, it’s uncertain whether they will. like that or not. Frieza achieved this form by training in a time displacement pocket space resembling the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for ten years. Unless the Saiyans can do something similar, they will never surpass him.
4 Lord Beerus
Although the mortals who occupied the previous entries on this list were impressive with their ability to rapidly increase their extreme power, they still could not defeat the power of the most powerful God of Destruction himself, Lord Beerus. In Dragon Ball Super chapter 28, Lord Beerus is forced to fight every other God of Destruction in the Dragon Ball multiverse, and comes out on top – but that’s not all. Lord Beerus is a master of Destruction – or Hakai – and can make things disappear simply by raising his hand. Vegeta is slowly learning this power, but no mortal can match the power of the Destroyer, who can simply decide to erase a person from existence – and Beerus is a strong Destroyer strongest of them all.
3 whispers
Whis is an angel tasked with not only guiding Lord Beerus in his cosmic purpose of maintaining order in the universe through destruction but also training him. In a way, Whis is the martial arts master of Lord Beerus, who is teaching the God of Destruction the ways of Ultra Instinct (which Beerus has yet to master). This means that Beerus cannot touch Whis, while Whis can inflict any level of punishment he wants on Beerus if the two ever fight seriously. However, it’s not something an angel would be involved in and is purely hypothetical. Additionally, the angels appear to be eternal while the Gods of Destruction are not (with the Tournament of Power proving that to be shockingly true), implying that the angels are simply on a different plane. higher plane of existence, and thus justifies Whis’s place on this list.
2 Great Priests
If Whis is above Lord Beerus, then it only makes sense that the Grand Priest is above Whis, as he is the father of all angels and the right-hand man of the Omni-King himself. The Grand Priest executes the divine decrees of the Omni-King(s), and is the one who assigns angels to their God of Destruction. It could be argued that the Grand Priest is the true mastermind behind the way the entire multiverse works in Dragon Ball canon, and it’s further implied that he can dish out personal and punitive punishments. Harsh to anyone who dares challenge him or Zenos. However, like Whis, the Grand Priest is not aggressive at all. In fact, he’s too powerful to be that way. At this point, the characters begin to enter states of power so confusing that fighting isn’t even necessary.
1 Omni-King
Indeed, the perfect example of a being (or beings) so powerful that they don’t need to fight is the Omni-King. This character (also known as Grand Zeno) is the ruler of the universe who can eliminate the entire universe with a single thought. Not only was this shown multiple times during the Tournament of Power, but in the Dragon Ball Super’s Future Trunks Saga it also showed the Omni-King wiping out the universe that Zamasu had taken over, at which point Goku invited that version of Zeno (which was called Future). Zeno) returns to his original universe, where future Zeno can rule alongside his alternate self. While the idea of two Zenos ruling the universe may seem scary, it’s no more than just one sitting on the throne, as the Omni-King is the pinnacle of true power in the Dragon Ball universe.
While Dragon Ball’s protagonists have indeed seen some massive powers – again, with their status quo always changing – they have a long way to go if they want to pierce the veil. of true omnipotence. However, regardless of what lies ahead for them, it’s safe to say that as the rules currently stand, here are the Top 10 strongest Dragon ball Characters of all time, ranked.
