One of the most famous parts of A piece are its great flashbacks, often used to reveal a character’s tragic past or explore some unknown part of the lore of the series. Manga creator Eiichiro Oda has become so good at it that the series can easily claim to have some of the best flashbacks in all of anime and manga. Although the series is currently in its final Saga, there are still plenty of potential flashbacks to explore.
While The End of most other stories will begin when most of the world’s mysteries have been revealed, One Piece still has many dangling plot threads it needs to connect. Of course, most of this is tied to its mysterious past, such as the unknown events in the Empty Century and the life of Joy Boy. However, there are also mysteries surrounding many of the key characters whose full motives remain unexplored. All of these mysteries can be explored through One Piece’s signature flashbacks, but there are ten that Oda particularly needs to cover before the manga ends.
10 Mihawk
Mihawk is one of the most mysterious characters in One Piece. First appearing in East Blue, Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in the world, whom Zoro aspires to one day defeat. Currently, Mihawk is one of the heads of the Cross Guild, one of the organizations that will search for One Piece in the Last War. However, despite his popularity, Oda has revealed very little about Mihawk’s past. While his past may not be deeply related to One Piece’s overarching lore, it would be a shame if fans didn’t get to see a flashback to Mihawk before the series ended.
9 Vegapunk
Fans got a glimpse of Vegapunk’s backstory when he talked to Dragon after Buster Call in Ohara, but this brief flashback doesn’t answer many of the fans’ questions about his past. Vegapunk was once part of the Mads research organization, home to many other prominent figures such as Cesar the Clown and Sanji’s father Vinsmoke Judge. Seeing more of this group could provide important insight into both these characters and the basic science behind key elements of the One Piece world such as the Devil Fruit and the Messenger Snail. It could also provide insight into why his Satellite Sloth turned out to be a traitor in One Piece’s Egghead Island.
8 And
Luckily, this flashback seems to be about to be revealed, with Bonny set to access her father’s memories on Egghead Island. This will eventually reveal the past of one of One Piece’s most enigmatic characters, Bartholomew Kuma, who gave up both his life and humanity to infiltrate the World Government. Kuma’s plot seems to be tied to many of One Piece’s most important mysteries, so its reveal will likely change the world of One Piece once it’s revealed. But it also promises to be one of the most tragic stories in the series, saying something based on all the heartbreaking stories that preceded it.
The 7 Rocks Pirates
The Rocks Pirates are a group of extremely powerful pirates that came to power before Roger began the new era of piracy. This mighty crew includes the likes of Big Mom and Kaido and was a key figure in the mysterious events in the Valley of the Gods years before the series began. Fans have gotten glimpses of this crew, both through Marine Sengoku telling a story about them and Kaido remembering them before Luffy defeated him. But given the extent of their influence and how disappointing Kaido and Big Mom’s individual stories are, Oda needs to show a flashback to the crew in their prime before the manga ends.
6 ebaf
Elbaf is the land of giants that Usopp has wanted to visit since the very beginning of One Piece. As the series goes on, Elbaf continues to become more and more important, with One Piece’s mysterious “Man Marked by the Flame” said to reside there with vital information about the Empty Century. Once the Straw Hats finally visit Elbaf, the island will definitely need a flashback to show its history, much like how Oden’s flashback reveals Wano’s past and Kyros’s flashback. reveals how Doflamingo rose to power in Dressrosa. This flashback may give fans answers to questions they’ve been wondering about Giant’s island for years.
5 dragons
Dragon is not only Luffy’s father but also the leader of the Revolutionary Army, which makes him extremely important to One Piece’s upcoming Final War. The series has hinted that the Straw Hats and the revolutionary army will meet face-to-face for a while, and when that happens, fans need to see both how Dragon formed the Revolutionary Army and why. he abandoned Luffy to embark on this mission. Dragon made a brief appearance in Vegapunk’s brief flashback to Ohara, but this glimpse was just enough to whet the appetite of fans for more information about him.
4 legs
Shanks has appeared in the story since the first chapter of One Piece, and since then, fans have been wanting to know more about him. As more and more information is revealed, new questions arise. Shanks is not only in Roger’s crew, he is also a Celestial Dragon and he has one of the strongest Haki abilities in the series. His motives are also extremely mysterious, with many fans wondering exactly what his ultimate goal is. Given his importance to both Luffy and the One Piece world at large, his flashback is sure to be an important insight into one of the most iconic but underrated characters. One Piece’s most explored.
3 Blackbeard
Like Shanks, Blackbeard has been a mysterious and important character since the early part of One Piece (although he was introduced in Jaya instead of East Blue). His intro made him the perfect villain for Luffy and his actions at the end of Marineford made him one of the strongest characters in the One Piece world. . While fans have known some interesting details about him over the years, Blackbeard remains largely a mystery, what is surprising is that he seems set to be one of the villains. One Piece’s final appearance at the end of the series. As Luffy inevitably clashes with him, One Piece will inevitably reveal his past, which will hopefully reveal how and why he became the despicable character he is today.
2 me
Although the Imu were only recently released, they are quickly becoming One Piece’s most feared and mysterious villains. The final figure behind the actions of the World Government, Imu is implied to be an immortal being one of the few who established the status quo of One Piece. Thus, their flashback will likely reveal why the World Government has removed any mention of the Empty Century from history and also how the Celestial Dragons rose to power. It will also reveal Imu’s true identity, something One Piece fans have been debating since its introduction.
1 joy boy
Joy Boy is Luffy’s former Devil Fruit holder and liberation champion. He could be a very important character in the Empty Century and is therefore deeply connected to many of the central mysteries of One Piece. Although not much is known about the character, given his importance, it is almost guaranteed that they will receive a flashback for them, which can be seen through the eyes of their companion. Zunesha. Their flashback is presented however, it is guaranteed to provide the revelations of the One Piece world that fans have eagerly speculated on for years, making it the ultimate flashback. The most anticipated left in the series.
Of course, some of these flashbacks can be combined for simplification, as Oda seems to think the series will end relatively soon. But whether or not these characters’ pasts are revealed, their history will answer too many of the main One Piece mysteries to be ignored. A pieceThe series’ flashbacks are some of the best of the series, and if Oda does do these flashbacks properly, these glimpses of the past will be no exception.
