Spy X Family Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: What is Yor’s secret mission? How does Princess Thorn prepare for her mission?
Yor is called to an enchanted garden tended by a rather mysterious figure known as the Salesman. As she entered this enchanting oasis, Yor couldn’t resist taking a moment to enjoy the sweet scent of the blooming flowers, letting the peaceful atmosphere envelop her.
Just as she was enjoying the view, the salesman had a sneaky surprise up his sleeve – a spontaneous attack to test Yor’s instincts and reflexes.
With the kindness of the seasonal assassin, Yor skillfully overcame the surprise attack. He has his doubts, you see. Perhaps her newfound family life has softened her fighting abilities. But oh boy, was he in for a surprise!
After their impromptu experiment, the Store Manager offered his sincerest apologies for the surprise attack, admitting that it was necessary to keep Princess Thorn alert.
With the action-packed review behind them, the Store Manager goes all out on Yor’s latest assignment—a gig as the bodyguard of a woman named Olka Gretchеr and her young child She is part of the Gretcher family—preparing to sail the high seas on a cruise ship called the Princess Lorelei. Talk about an adventurous train ride!
Basically, she was hired to protect members of the mafia family from assassins. He had a fancy cover story ready. According to this amazing story, Yor was there on official business.
Voila, problem solved! So, without further ado, Princess Thorn wholeheartedly accepts the assignment and is ready for some adventures at sea!
As she’s making her way back, our heroine stumbles upon her sleeping sibling, Yuri, who’s catching some Zzz’s on that subway car. Yor can’t help but wonder about his unusual choice of route, and our quick-witted Yuri quickly makes up a story about returning from a business trip (spoiler alert: he actually caught the troublemaker).
Then comes the sweet part-Yor invites Yuri over for dinner. Oh, right? But our stoic brother politely declined the offer. That’s right, as a thoughtful sister, she couldn’t help but worry. She asks Yuri if he’s taking good care of himself. In a reassuring tone, he reminds her that he is no longer a child and that he is as trustworthy as they come.
With a heartfelt goodbye as Yuri got off the bus at his stop, we witnessed a touching moment as he chased after the departing train with tears in his eyes. Yor is thinking why she sticks to her job as an assassin when her younger brother doesn’t need her attention anymore.
Anya, our little bundle of joy, was beaming with victory as she showed off the tickets she scored. Yor swoops in, all “What’s going on?”Loid, despite being a responsible father and husband, suggests that Yor should take Anya in because he has to clock in for it.
But she dropped the bomb—she was scheduled to jump on the same boat for her secret mission. Now, hint at the waterworks, because Anya is freaking out about missing out on this dream trip. The boy is longing for the opportunity to row across the ocean.
Feeling pressured, Loid, our main character, decides to take the plunge and ask his boss for some time off. To everyone’s surprise, Sylvia turned on the green light and said: “Sure, Loid, have fun!”

The impostors will arrive at the port. Anya? Oh, he’s jumping off the wall with excitement, ready to conquer the ocean. Now, Yor, she has mixed feelings, you see. Part of her wish was to enjoy this trip without the annoying task that loomed over her. Yor is pondering the unthinkable – can she make this Princess Thorn’s final work?
At the port, right before switching to bodyguard mode, Yor had a heartfelt family moment. She said goodbye to her weird friends, promising to talk to them whenever she had free time.
We set out with the majestic Princess Lorеlei, and young Anya’s eyes opened wide with surprise. He’s exploring the ship’s awesome features—there’s a swanky swimming pool, a dazzling circus, and even a game room for all sorts of shenanigans.
But please make me shiver! Anya’s bubble deflated slightly as he clapped his hands on their third-place suit. He thought it was a prison cell, but he quickly bounced back—never sleeping in a bunk bed, yes.
On our flashy ship, Princess Thorn meets Fursеal Gray from the famous Arhaus Department Store and his wife, Shaty. But here’s the kicker – our girl Shaty might just be the legendary Olka Gretchеr, even though she looks pretty anonymous compared to her photo.
Now, Fursеal sees Yor as Olka’s personal bodyguard. But he still wonders whether our slim and sleek Princess Thorn can keep Olka safe and sound. They offer Gray a grand tour of the ship, but Olka won’t participate—you know, having to take care of the baby.
As they trotted away, Fursеal felt embarrassed to leave Olka and Shaty alone. But fear not, Fursеal! Our man Matthеw assures of Yor’s strength and he is a trustworthy person.
With Fursеal and crew in the picture, it’s just our Princess Thorn and Olka, packing their suits for secret entrances and escape routes. Olka spilled the beans – Fursеal was more than just a member of the group; he is playing a role for some mysterious reason. Olka is looking for a peaceful life with her little one, away from all the noise.
She asks Yor for a short trip outside with her son, which makes Yor nervous. But Olka has some logic for you – their enemies don’t know what she looks like and she trusts our Princess Thorn to keep her safe.
Yor nodded and they prepared to venture out. But right before they walked out, Yor peeked through the door, all nervous. Olka raised an eyebrow and Yor spilled the beans — her family was on board, too.

Anya calls him out for being unhappy, and that’s when Loid remembers what his Sylvia told him – treat this mission like any other. So he adopts a new attitude and decides this is his and Anya’s performance time.
Yor opens up to Olka and says they know nothing about her secret work. She would be in trouble if they saw her on a mission to fight her enemies. Olka wondered if they were just part of her cover story, and Yor nodded with a warm and gentle expression, confirming Olka’s hunch.
With Olka’s son’s cries serving as a reminder, Yor and Olka prepare for their little excursion outside. Olka insisted on lending Yor some clothes to disguise herself. As they step into the fresh air, Olka shares her nostalgia for the life she left behind.
The serenity was briefly interrupted when Olka’s son sneezed a few times. They decided to return to their rooms, but not before Yor’s sincere promise to devote himself and take care of Olka and her son’s affairs.
Moved by Yor’s commitment, Olka reveals her son’s name, Gram, a tribute to her father. She even made an offer to let Yor keep the baby. Little did they know that their conversation had an unintended audience—a bug eavesdropping on their every word.
