Hello everyone, I am Kraft Lawrence, where he will be selling some sacks of flour in Lenos. Of course, he has another purpose as Lawrence is helping Holo find her hometown Yoitsu as they will stop by Tereo to find Father Franz.
Now, let's start the part of the story where Kraft Lawrence and Holo are greeted by a young man named Gyoam Evan. In retrospect, I think Evan was almost trampled by Lawrence's horse.
Anyway, Evan is a miller who lives near the watermill located on the outskirts of Tereo.
If Lawrence wanted some wheat ground into bread flour, Evan was the man who could do it, but the seller would require his services at another time.
Cut to the next scene as Lawrence and Holo finally arrive in Tereo to find Father Franz residing at the Diendran Monastery, but they are greeted by a young woman named Elsa Schtingheim.
Sadly for Lawrence and Holo, Elsa is not as curious as the visitors as she tells them that Father Franz has passed away and that the Diendran Monastery does not exist.
Well then, I guess Kraft Lawrence will have to deal with Elsa Schtingheim later because it's time to meet the town elder named Sem, where he and the townspeople are working every day harvesting wheat into bread.
Like Elsa, Sem tells Lawrence that there is no such thing as Diendran Monastery in Tereo. But you know what, I have a feeling that Sem and Elsa are actually lying about the monastery.
By the way, Kraft Lawrence is greeted by a snake statue when Sem tells him that the snake represents a pagan god named Truyeo. And yes, the village of Tereo is named after the snake god.
In any case, it seems Lawrence will have to dig deeper into the truth because this town is hiding something.
And it looks like he found a hint that Kraft Lawrence saw Gyoam Evan secretly meeting Elsa Schtingheim. I'm waiting for the seller to make the next move.
Now, it's time for Lawrence and Holo to relax and have a beer at the local pub. Just hope the wise wolf doesn't lose his cool after drinking too much.
By the way, this is Iima Ranel, the owner of this tavern. Oh yes, Miss Ranel had an interesting story when she ran away from pirates while carrying a jug of beer and a bag of barley.
Anyway, it seems Kraft Lawrence and Holo had a good time drinking with the locals because it was time to head back to the inn.
Speaking of Holo, it seems she got drunk off some sour fruit. But let's get down to business because Lawrence will bring his sack of wheat and turn it into flour.
So Kraft Lawrence went to Gyoam Evan to grind his bag of wheat into flour. Come on, the seller wanted some bread for the day.
So while the wheat was being milled, Lawrence learned a few things as Evan and the townspeople of Tereo had previously been at odds with the nearby city of Emberch, especially when the latter imposed taxes on the former. But that all changed when Father Franz or Louis Lana Schtinghilt came to town as the priest made the small town an equal to Emberch. Heck, Father Franz even allowed the townspeople to worship their local deity.
Unfortunately, Father Franz has passed away and there is no one to succeed him. There is Elsa Schtingheim but she is not qualified to be a priest, so the Emberch can send a priest from their city and thus forbid pagan practices. Oh, and the clergy will suppress rebellious villagers if they do not comply with their demands.
Now that he's learned some things about Father Franz, it's time for Lawrence and Holo to visit Elsa and confess at the Diendran Monastery because it turns out it really does exist.
And while the merchant is a sinner who has made many mistakes in his life, Kraft Lawrence has a reason to visit Tereo.
And that would be Holo's long lost homeland when the wise wolf showed off his ears to Elsa Schtingheim. By the way, she was so shocked to see someone with animal ears that Elsa fainted.
Elsa shows them the secret room containing pagan stories collected by Father Franz anyway.
Oh yeah, Elsa is also holding some letters written by the late priest because it is being addressed to her. I wonder if Father Franz would choose Elsa as his successor if he passed away?
Now, it's time for Lawrence and Holo to find clues about Yoitsu by reading tons of books, although it will take a long time for the merchant and the wise wolf to find the important clue.
But then Kraft Lawrence came across a piece of paper when he opened the Moon Bear Book. It was a letter written by Father Franz, the reason why he collected so many pagan stories was because he wanted to know if God actually existed.
Although there is no confirmation as to whether he encountered the Moon-Hunting Bear at that time, Father Franz felt uneasy and decided to collect books about pagan gods and write about them.
Of course, the Church would not accept his reasoning no matter how hard he tried because his collection of pagan stories would be lost to history if the clergy found out.
Cut to the next scene where Kraft Lawrence confronts Sem and his villagers inside the Diendran Monastery. Oh my god, are they going to torture him and Holo to death for discovering this secret?
It turns out that it was so tragic that a person from Emberch died after eating bread from Tereo. Because of this, priests from Emberch would come to Tereo and massacre the villagers for heresy.
One last thing, it seems that Gyoam Evan was surprised by Sem's explanation to Kraft Lawrence. Wait, wasn't Evan the one who served the poisoned bread while grinding wheat at the water mill?
Hey everyone, it looks like Lawrence and Holo are stuck in a rock and a hard place again as the Church is going to punish some people who don't believe in Tereo. I hope they are safe because I'll see you next time!
