The Rising of the Shield Hero season 3 has released a new trailer ahead of its release on October 6. Studio Kinema citrus is animating the series under the direction of Hitoshi Saga.

Shield Hero Season 3 – New Trailer | Premiere October 6
The theme songs for season 3 include “SIN” by Mad Kid as the opening theme and “Suki ni Natte wa Ikenai Riyu” by Chiai Fujikawa as the ending theme. Keigo Koyanagi is writing and composing the series, while Kevin Penkin is composing the music.
The first season of the anime aired from January to June 2019 with 25 episodes. Studio Kinema Citrus animated it under the direction of Takao Abo and series production by Keigo Koyanagi. The second season is scheduled to air in October 2021, to be broadcast from April to June 2022 with 13 episodes. Korean DR Films did the animation together with Kinema Citrus. The film was directed by Masato Jinbo and compiled by Keigo Koyanagi.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime (in both subbed and dubbed versions) and describes the plot as follows:
Iwatani Naofumi, a lowly otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with wielding swords, spears, and bows as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Calamity Wave as the Shield Hero. Excited at the prospect of a great adventure, Naofumi sets out with his group. However, just a few days later, he was betrayed and lost all his money, dignity and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he hired a slave named Raphtalia and took over the Waves and the world. But can he really find a way to turn this desperate situation around?
The Rising of The Shield Hero anime is based on the Japanese light novel series by Aneko Yusagi, with illustrations by Seira Minami. Media Factory has published the series since 2013, as well as Aiya Kyu’s manga adaptation since 2014.
