This episode focuses on humor. While there wasn’t nearly as much plot development as I would have liked, this Shangri-La Frontier episode had some of the funniest moments the show has had to date, from the Psyger’s over-the-top reactions to the entire training process. montage in the second half. Starting from the previous point, I don’t know why I think Psyger and Sunraku knew each other before this point. You could call her a schoolgirl heartthrob, but she could easily be considered a stalker. She has little contact with her lover and follows him everywhere. However, her delusions of romance and romanticization of Sunraku’s passive response are extraordinary. This will be her role throughout the film.
The second half of this episode includes a classic training session. Sunraku is a skilled player, but he is at a lower level than many other players who have spent dozens, even hundreds of hours on this game. Skill will only get you so far, especially when going up against people who are far superior to you. It would be great to see more beautiful animated choreography during practice. However, this video is intended to be humorous and speed up the leveling process at the same time. However, the funny thing is that despite going through hell and over a hundred different battle scenarios, Sunraku only gained two levels due to the limited items he carried. I’d like to think this item would be treated like a weighted vest.
Arthur sent Sunraku cryptic messages about meeting in another game to talk to him about something important, but considering her terrible personality, it’s hard to guess whether it was is something that focuses on the plot or not. We don’t even know why the bunnies invested in Sunraku other than the chance to meet the game’s mythical beasts. The show is still very entertaining, but I’m concerned it’s just spinning its wheels.
