A very brief announcement trailer for the film (subtitled Ame Nochi Hare), as well as an image of Saki Aoi with Makoto Hanaoka and Ryuji Taiga reflected in her eyes, was also released.

The Senpai is a television series about Otokonoko that began airing in Japan on July 4 (effectively July 5 at 12:55 a.m. JST). The anime is an adaptation of the manga published by LINE Digital Frontier. Pomthe manga ranked first in the 5th We Want to See Animated Manga Ranking and ranked second in the web category of Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou 2021. Webtoons describes the source material as:
Can true love really overcome all obstacles? High school student Saki confesses her feelings to Makoto. Surprised, Makoto reveals his secret, but the unexpected discovery doesn't seem to bother Saki, who is already infatuated with him. After being rejected, Saki asks Makoto's childhood friend Ryuji for some advice on how to win his heart. A love triangle unfolds as Ryuji realizes that he may also have feelings for his old friend.
Senpai is an Otokonoko manga serialized on Line Manga from 2019 to 2021 and has nine tankoubon volumes from Ichijinsha as of July 2024. Crunchyroll airs the show.
