Anime Blue Box has added Shogo Sakata, Anna Nagase, and Asaki Yuikawa to its voice cast, and revealed their character designs. Studio Telecom Animation Film is animating the series, while Netflix will begin streaming the show worldwide on October 3. You can check out the new voice cast and their characters below.
Shogo Sakata as Ryosuke Nishida
Character description: A second year student at Eimei High School. He is part of the boys' badminton club and is the team's mood maker, trusted by his peers thanks to his close friendship with Hina.
Shogo Sakata's comment: I'm very excited to have the opportunity to play Ryosuke Nishida. As someone who read Blue Box as a fan, I never expected to be a part of it so I'm really happy. As a senior who is both reliable and cheerful, I want to do my best to promote energy in the badminton team. I appreciate your support!
Anna Nagase as Nagisa Funami
Character Description: A second year student at Eimei High School. She is in the girls' basketball club, just like Chinatsu. She is very close friends with Chinatsu and has a straightforward personality.
Anna Nagase's comment: I'm so happy to play Nagisa Funami in the Blue Box TV anime! Nagisa is a bright and cheerful character who works hard at basketball. I hope Blue Box's warm and youthful charm will touch everyone. Please look forward to the broadcast!
Asaki Yuikawa as Nina Shimazaki
Character Description: A first year student at Eimei High School. She is in the same class as Taiki, Chinatsu, and Hina. Niina is also in the rhythmic gymnastics club like Hina.
Asaki Yuikawa's comment: I'm so happy to be playing Nina Shimazaki! She's a kind girl who works hard with Hina in the rhythmic gymnastics club, and I really enjoyed playing her. I hope the youthful brightness of Blue Box will shine through and resonate with everyone!
The anime previously revealed the main trailer, previewing both opening theme songs. HIGE DANdism officially performed the opening theme song “Same Blue”, while Eve performed the ending theme song “Teenage Blue”.

Yuichiro Yano will direct the film, with Miho Tanino serving as character designer and Yuko Kakihara in charge of series composition. Koji Miura writes and draws the manga for Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump. The story follows Taiki Inomata, a badminton player aiming for the national team, as he falls in love with Chisatsu Kano, his beautiful and basketball-loving senpai.
