The second season of the Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles anime has received a trailer, teaser images, and an October 2024 release date.
The new season is once again produced by TMS Entertainment Studio 6 with cooperation from WOW World. Osamu Yamasaki of Season 1 will return as composer and co-writer for the series, but this time will serve as lead director instead of director. The new director is Hiroshi Kubo (Part 1 ending animation scenario artist and director, general director Magikano).
Kyoko Yufu will take on the role of character designer.

Among the returning Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles cast are Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rio/Haruto Amakawa, Akane Fujita as Celia Claire, Yuki Kuwahara as Aishia, According to the anime's X (formerly Twitter), characters to watch out for in Part 2 includes Aki Sendo (Marika Kono), Masato Sendo (Aguri Onishi) and Hiroaki Sakata (Hiroyuki Yoshino).
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is based on the light novel HJ Bunko written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. The series started in 2015 and has 25 volumes as of February 2024. J-Novel Club describes the plot as:
Meet Rio: a heartless orphan boy living in the slums. When he was only 7 years old, he realized he was actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also learns that he possesses extremely powerful magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping of a little girl. His good deed was noted, and he was rewarded by being enrolled in… a prestigious academy for noble children…?

The light novel inspired two manga adaptations, with the initial effort being short-lived. There is also the browser game Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles and a radio show. The story debuted on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2014.
