Home entertainment distribution agreement to release the film on multiple platforms in the US and Canada this year

Scream! Studios and Toei Animation announced on Wednesday a home distribution deal to bring the animated film Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning to multiple entertainment platforms and home entertainment shelves in the United States and Canada this year.
The multi-year agreement provides Shout! The studios have North American home entertainment distribution rights to the film, including all packaged media and electronically sold digital rights.
The home entertainment release of the film will include an English dub, featuring Brian Donovan, who returns from the television series, voicing Daisuke Motomiya (Davis Motomiya in English) in the film.

It is now 2012, ten years have passed since the adventure in the Digital World. Daisuke Motomiya is now twenty years old, and he and the rest of the DigiDestined seem to be changing little by little in their appearance and lifestyle. Then one day, a giant Digitama suddenly appeared in the sky above Tokyo Tower. Daisuke and the others encounter a mysterious young man named Lui Ohwada, who informs them that he is the world’s first DigiDestined…
The film opens in Japan on October 27 and opens in the US on November 8-9. The film premiered with an English dub on November 8 and a Japanese version with subtitles on November 9.
Director Tomohisa Taguchi (Persona 3 the Movie four-part series, Kino’s Journey-The Beautiful World, Twin Star Exorcists) and writer Akatsuki Yamatoya (Digimon Adventure, Digimon Frontier, Digimon: Data Squad), anime studio Yumeta Company and Production company Toei Animation returns from Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.
Digimon Adventure 02 is a direct-to-video anime sequel to the first Digimon Adventure series, although it features a new main cast of characters. The show aired from April 2000 to March 2001 in Japan and then aired from August 2000 to May 2001 in the United States. Discotek announced in July 2023 that they would release the anime in English and later in Japanese.
The sequel to The Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna tells the story of “Tai and Agumon’s final adventure”. The film opened in Japan in February 2020, then was released outside Japan in 2020-2021.
