To celebrate the release of volume 18 of Sakamoto Days, a special live-action collaboration video was released on August 1, 2024. This live-action promotional video is set in an alternate version of the Sakamoto Store, offering a new experience different from the original manga's storyline.
The video stars stuntwoman Saori Izawa and was directed by Daiki Kamoshita, with action choreography by Mine Tanimoto. Sakamoto Days is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. The series has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020 and has been collected into 16 tankōbon volumes as of April 2024.
The manga is also published in English by Viz Media and Manga Plus.
An anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in January 2025 and will be streamed worldwide on Netflix with weekly episodes. TMS Entertainment, known for Detective Conan, Fruits Basket (2019), and Dr. Stone, will animate the Sakamoto Days anime.
Masaki Watanabe will direct, Taku Kishimoto will compose, and Yo Moriyama will design the characters.
