Review of episode 6 of Ranma ½ 2024: This episode was again good and had interesting characters. Let's see how it goes.
Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 5 Summary
Akane's beloved long hair was now cut, leaving Ranma visibly shaken. He never expected things to escalate to this point, and even tried to defuse the situation by willingly taking the beating. Akane took advantage of this, slapping both Ranma and Ryoga hard before rushing away, leaving everyone bewildered. A flashback shows the importance of her long hair—not only was it a style she liked, but it was also a way to attract Doctor Tofu's attention.
Akane had hoped that by imitating her older sister Kasumi's long hairstyle, she might have a chance with Doctor Tofu, who loved Kasumi very much. However, Akane now understands his deep feelings for her sister and realizes that her hairstyle will not change his heart. After crying openly, she finally accepts the loss of both her hair and her unrequited feelings, marking a step forward in her growth. Ranma, who witnesses this, finds himself struggling with his own mixed emotions.
He wanted to compliment Akane on her new short hairstyle, finding it cute, but his tsundere nature stopped him. Furthermore, whenever he tried to be nice to her, Akane assumed it was out of guilt rather than sincerity. It's clear that the two are starting to develop feelings for each other, but they're too oblivious to admit it.
In this episode, Ryoga's long-standing grudge against Ranma is also resolved. It turns out he followed Ranma all the way to China and suffered the same fate, being transformed after being splashed with cold water. This reveal is especially interesting, as Ryoga accidentally becomes Ranma's romantic rival in a ridiculously unexpected way.
Ranma ½ 2024 Episode 6 Review
The cast of Ranma ½ gets bigger with each episode, and honestly, I'm not mad about it. Today, we also see the appearance of a mysterious character named Kodachi, the black rose who is also very good at using gym whips. At the beginning of the episode, we see her defeat three enemies against the female version of Ranma.
From the defeated, we learn that Kodachi is from St Bacchus School and is a competitor to Ranma High School's gymnasts. Kodachi is someone who believes in cheating, which is why she doesn't care if she needs to cheat to win or not. Knowing that no girl would be able to compete with them, the gymnasts went to Akane for help. Akane readily agrees to help them, but there's a problem. She's terrible at gymnastics.
Today's episode has many things that will make you excited. The most interesting aspect is definitely the completely out of control love angles that appear around the main couple. Now we're seeing Ryoga, who can transform into a piglet, taking full advantage of his transformation to stay close to Akane. Ranma sees this and is clearly jealous, but he does not reveal Ryoga's secret and just fights him all the time.
Additionally, Kodachi develops an unhealthy and very persistent obsession with Ranma when he saves her. Additionally, we also find out that she is Kuno Senpai's younger sister. This therefore leads to a strange situation where both Ranma and Akane gain admiration for someone they do not care for.
Review
Today's episode is again very interesting and humorous considering the bizarre situations that follow the main characters. I love that we get a lot of action along with all the humor and romance. But I have to say that Ryoga's pig form is too cute to handle.
