Summary
Professor Oak and Kukui both met Ash as children with Celebi's help, shaping their future relationship. Celebi, a mythical time-traveling Pokemon, plays an important role in connecting Ash with two famous professors. The shared experience of meeting Ash as a child shows their deep connection and influence on Ash.
PokémonProfessor's characters often fade into the background, but two of the most famous and famous professors actually have something really strange in common. Thanks to the mythical Pokémon Celebi, both Professor Oak and Professor Kukui had the opportunity to meet Ash long before they expected.
Celebi is a Pokémon associated with time travel, moving back and forth between the past and future as easily as a person can walk across the street. That makes it a particularly elusive Pokémon that can be found anywhere at any time. Ash encountered Celebi many times (and may have accidentally brought one with him in the GS Ball), and was even transported back in time by the mythical Pokémon.
Professor Oak and Kukui have had their own conflicts with Celebi, and for both of them, it happened when they were still children.
Oak and Kukui both met Ash as children
In Pokémon 4Ever, the fourth Pokémon film about Celebi, a boy named Sammy is accidentally transported to the future by a mythical Pokémon while helping it evade poachers, disappearing without a trace from his proper timeline. me. Sammy meets future Ash, who after an initial conflict agrees to help Sammy find and protect Celebi.
At the end of the film, it is revealed that Sammy is actually Samuel Oak, AKA Professor Oak, and he remembers his adventures with Ash and Celebi quite clearly. While Oak never revealed this to Ash, Sammy's sketchbook in Oak's possession confirmed the connection.
In the Sun & Moon episode “Timeless Encounter!” Ash is training his Torracat when a Celebi happens to be nearby, pulling Ash back in time after it. In the past, Ash met a boy whom he nicknamed “Roarie”, after his Incineroar hat. Ash and Roarie have a battle and Ash easily wins. Roarie reveals that he is in possession of a rare Firum Z crystal that he received from a Trevenant.
Ash explains his past experiences with gyms to Roarie as they wait for the rain to stop, much to the boy's excitement. Ash also received Firium Z before being brought back to the present by Celebi.
Of course, Roarie turns out to be Professor Kukui, although Kukui doesn't know that Ash has time traveled. Interestingly enough, Ash met the two professors he was closest to as a child, and both times the responsible party was actually Celebi. The Professors' experiences with Ash helped shape the men they eventually became, and they in turn helped shape Ash in their own ways. Incidentally, this would make Ash indirectly responsible for the growth of Kukui's Alola Pokémon League, which he would win.
One can only wonder what Oak and Kukui might have thought if they had known about this strangely specific experience they shared, but that is just one of the great mysteries of Pokémon world.
