Kagurabachi is rapidly gaining popularity worldwide and in Japan, quickly surpassing sales milestones. The series' engaging story, eye-catching character designs, and intense action create high interest. Fans can look forward to the upcoming anime adaptation of Kagurabach i, showing off the film's potential for future success.
Kagurabachi Forming Jump Shonenits future as the magazine's biggest series just as My Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen are about to reach their finals. With about 30 chapters released so far, the series has attracted a strong fan base both in Japan and abroad, which is impressive even though it has only been released for a short time.
Published in September 2023 in Weekly Shonen Jump, Kagurabachi was released alongside Mamayuyu and Two On Ice, as part of the NEXTWAVE initiative. Unfortunately, the remaining two manga were canceled due to lack of popularity, but Kagurabachi became a golden egg for the famous Shonen magazine.
Although the manga had a shaky start due to unrealistic expectations from fans, it seems the numbers prove that Kagurabachi has the potential to be Shonen Jump's next big character.
Kagurabachi was famous even before chapter 1 was dropped
Meme culture has propelled the series to unprecedented virality
As volume #2 of Kagurabachi is about to be released, exciting news was shared that the series currently has 200k copies in circulation, including digital releases. This is extremely impressive and shows that it is also very popular in Japan. For reference, SJ's two other hit mangas – Chainsaw Man, which sold 89 thousand copies with the first two volumes, and Jujutsu Kaisen, which reached 300 thousand copies with the first 2 volumes. Blue Lock, the best-selling manga of 2023, also took 5 printed volumes to reach 200,000 copies in print. Kagurabachi's tremendous performance is impressive and sales will continue to increase.
This achievement happened even before the English version of the manga was released to an international audience. Outside of Japan Viz Media has announced that Kagurabachi will receive an English edition in the fall of 2024, making it one of the fastest manga to do so, with only Kohei Horikoshi's Barrage and Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru by Masashi Kishimoto had a faster release. Fans should look forward Sales increased even more when the English print version was released.
This dark magic manga went viral even before the first chapter was published, and the hype for the series was so extraordinary that even Shonen Jump officials were surprised. This is mainly due to his eye-catching character designs Main character Chihiro. His dark outfit, bright red eyes, amazing sword, and gloomy appearance made everyone very excited.and so started the hype train that spawned countless memes and placed Kagurabachi on a high pedestal.
The story is also very interesting, and current events make way for the series to continue for a very long time. Chihiro's father was a master blacksmith who forged powerful swords to end a long war. However, he finds his father murdered and the swords stolen, he sets out on a journey of revenge and swears that he will avenge his father and get the swords back. Many years later, He became a powerful swordsman and began searching for those responsible, thrusting himself into the midst of a powerful and terrifying witch coven..
This manga series has caused a fever on Manga Plus, Shueisha's official comic reading website, and climbed very quickly to the top 3. It surpassed major series such as My Hero Academia, Kaiju No. 8 and Oshi No Ko. It's clearly very popular worldwide, and one hopes that Kagurabachi will survive Shonen Jump's premature cancellation of the manga.
However, there are signs that Kagurabachi is about to collapse, as its popularity in Japan is not enough to ensure its continuation. That all changed when volume 1 was released, the series sold out very quickly and a reprint was announced immediately. It is currently in its second edition and with the release of volume 2 imminent, Kagurabachi has survived the cull and will have a long and fruitful run in the prestigious magazine.
Kagurabachi has all the makings of a successful Shonen battle
Exciting battles and great story make it a must read
It seems like with each chapter, Kagurabachi gets better and better. The art has been great from the start, but Takeru Hokazo always raises the bar and treats fans to some epic displays of pen mastery. The setting is beautiful, the character designs are perfect, and the series manages to add entertaining humor to a rather gruesome plot, making it more interesting.
However, Kagurabachi has one thing it does better than most manga: the action scenes are among the best. The author of My Hero Academia praised the series for its excellent fight choreography, and the manga went viral every week for its intense battles. From the silly angles, cool poses, and gray tones that Takeru uses in the fight scenes, mastering such action sequences is rare, especially for someone who has been drawing for several years.
Based on the success of the series, an anime adaptation may be on the horizon
Fans of the hit series want to see the animation as soon as possible
With its proven success as a manga, an anime adaptation of Kagurabachi will most likely happen sooner or later. Kagurabachi ranked seventh in AnimeJapan's Most Wanted Anime Adaptation poll, which shows that the demand is there. While it's still too early and there isn't much source material to decide on a project, Shonen Jump is certainly keeping an eye on the series' progress. The anime adaptation of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End was planned in the early stages of the manga, so it's not surprising that the same could happen with Kagurabachiespecially since it is a proven product.
Luckily, the level of popularity around the world is very high so I also want to maintain my popularity in Japan. Ultimately, our goal is to make it into an anime!

Vivid fight scenes and an interesting plot make a great case for Kagurabachi's anime. Series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer are similar in this regard, and their anime adaptations have taken the manga sales of both to unimaginable heights, so one can only wonder how good it is. Kagurabachi will look at the video format and its potential.
