ENHYPEN will delve into the Pokémon universe with this new collaboration.
HYBE and The Pokémon Company revealed that ENHYPEN, a seven-member K-Pop group, will be collaborating with ‘Pokémon Music Collective’ to release a new single called “One and Only”. ‘Pokémon Music Collective’ features music inspired by the iconic sounds of the Pokémon series video game universe. The single and accompanying music video will be released on July 12.
All about ENHYPEN
Formed through a survival competition program called I-Land and Belift Lab, ENHYPEN consists of seven members, Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Niki. The name ENHYPEN is inspired by the hyphen symbol that connects one word to another with the group’s purpose of “connecting, discovering and growing together”. The group debuted in November 2020 and achieved the highest first-week sales for their debut mini album “Border: Day One” among K-Pop groups that debuted the same year. ENHYPEN won the Next Leader Award at the Fact Music Awards 2020 two weeks after its debut.
The band’s success continued to grow as they became the fastest group to have two albums, “Dimension: Dilemma” and “Manifesto: Day 1,” selling over one million copies. “Dimension: Dilemma” debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200, with “Manifesto: Day 1” at number six. Their most recent album “Dark Blood” was released on May 22 and sold over 1.3 million copies within a week and debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200, becoming their highest entry as well as their first top 5 entry on the chart. ENHYPEN started their first world tour, “Manifesto” in September 2022 and are currently on their second world tour, “Fate”. Their popularity and power as one of the leaders of the next generation of K-Pop is evident as they become the first fourth-generation K-Pop boy band to hold a concert. solo music at Tokyo Dome. ENHYPEN will perform in the US in six cities for seven pairs of shoes, starting in October.
ENHYPEN has embarked on creative paths other than music. The seven have teamed up with WEBTOON to release a new webtoon titled Dark Moon: The Blood Altar. In the story, the vampire-turned ENHYPEN is inexplicably attracted to a new transfer student named Sooha. The webtoon has attracted nearly 46 million views and currently has 56 chapters.
