Exquisite Pokémon Cosplay
Ivysaur and Venusaur aren’t the only pocket monsters that have inspired intricate cosplays in the form of capes. Most notably, popular cosplay and vtuber Mink the Satyr posted a number of photos of her Trubbish outfit featuring voluminous sleeves, full skirt, and delicate lace. This final product perfectly reflects the high-fashion aesthetic — a rather ironic result since Trubbish is a fifth-generation Pokémon formed from a combination of trash bags, industrial waste, and chemical agents. .
The long-running major franchise began in 1996 with the release of Pocket Monsters: Red and Green; Nintendo later renamed the game Pokémon Red and Blue. Over the years, the company has launched more than 120 main and minor titles, with the most recent titles, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, dropping late last year. Scarlet and Violet received mixed reactions from players and critics; At the same time, some sought full refunds for the game’s many performance issues, while others embraced chaos and created hilarious memes about various glitches.
The Pokémon brand includes more than just video games and impressive examples of fan-generated content like cosplay; The multimedia giant also has a variety of comic books, spin-offs, official card games and, of course, cartoons. Pokémon Ultimate Journey: The series serves as the swan anthem for longtime franchise protagonists Ash Ketchum and his loyal Pikachu, and the newest chapter, Pokémon Horizons, premieres on the 14th. April, introduces brand new protagonists, Riko and her partner, Sprigatito.
Moreover, a very different genre of Pokémon cartoons will appear on Netflix in the near future. The Pokémon Concierge stop-motion animation won’t follow a trainer but instead focuses on Haru, a resort employee. The story will see her interact with guests and their pocket monster companions as she overcomes the many challenges of her customer service job.
Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series is currently available to stream on Netflix, and many of the games in the franchise are available to play exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
