Warning: Spoilers for One-Punch Man #191 (JP)Man one punchThe world’s greatest villain, who just a few chapters ago was at the level of destroying planets, now has to scrub floors to atone for his sins – and it’s the best thing that could have happened to he.
Garou appears again in chapter 191, which is quite surprising since he only appears a few pages at the end. Garou is shown to be working at Bang’s dojo, along with the rest of his apprentices, Charanko (whom Saitama impersonates in the Super Fight arc) and Sour Face. However, Garou is currently at the bottom of the ladder, performing the most mundane tasks like mopping the floor. He was even forced to work a part-time job, apparently by court order, which he used to help rebuild the Bang’s dojo after his reputation as a Heroic Hunter. he made everyone run away.
Garou’s situation is the perfect humbling experience
Although this version of Garou never had the power of “God,” he still has some other incredible feats to his name, such as karate chopping the giant monster Centisennin in half from the stratosphere down to Earth. It seemed a shame to have to do such work, but what Garou needed more than anything was humility, and his old master was the only one who could do that. By taking back Garou as his student, Bang takes responsibility not only for what Garou has done but also for his future, ensuring that he will never lose his way again.
Aside from humiliating him, it’s funny to see the final season’s hulking villain scrubbing the floor, which is more redeeming than what most villains do after they’re defeated. Garou never really wanted to be evil; he sees injustice in the way monsters and heroes are treated, and in his own way tries to right a perceived wrong. Garou certainly deserves a second chance to become the hero he truly always wanted to be, and the first step to becoming that hero is to destroy the ego that Garou has built – which is mainly His ex-employee was excellent at his job.
It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Garou as he takes on these menial jobs and part-time jobs. After receiving so much attention throughout the Monster Association arc, Garou’s absence from the story seemed a bit strange, so it’s nice to see him again, especially now that he’s Strive to improve yourself and atone for your mistakes. Garou certainly has more of a role Man one punchBut what that role is remains a mystery.
