The world of A piece is a special one that has puzzled readers for a long time. One of the series’ oldest mysteries is why its world is covered in oceans and dotted with islands. Needless to say, it is a world very different from our own, with unique terrain beyond imagination and logic that makes one question whether it is governed by the same rules as ours. me or not.
That said, Imu’s use of a particular catastrophic weapon in chapter #1060 could be the answer to the long-standing mystery and also explain the existence of the hole in Enies Lobby, along with a Another mysterious number.
Lulusia’s destruction in chapter #1060 had catastrophic consequences globally, including earthquakes, tsunamis, and most importantly, rising sea levels worldwide. Chapter #1089 further states that sea levels rose by one meter across the four seas, inundating several islands and forcing many people to evacuate. If Imu was indeed one of the first twenty rulers to establish the World Government, as Cobra suggested in chapter #1085, then the weapon used to destroy Lulusia was most likely an Ancient Weapon. Considering the sheer destructive power of the weapons, the world of One Piece could very well be the result of the use of many similar weapons during the Void Century causing sea levels to rise exponentially.
Sea levels in One Piece may be a byproduct of war
This rising sea level will cause many islands, like Water 7, to sink over time or be completely submerged like the old Wano Country. The giant robot found on Egghead Island further proves such technologically advanced weapons could easily survive the Void Century with alternative fuel sources far more efficient than the Flame The mother that Imu uses in this case. The use of such weapons could also explain the existence of the hole in the ocean in Enies Lobby. The hole created where Lulusia used to be bears a striking resemblance to the one at Enies Lobby, both looking like giant circular waterfalls. While it’s unclear exactly where the water at the bottom of these waterfalls goes, one plausible explanation is that the hole is actually a void and all the water that was once there has been displaced – hence sea level rise High.
This could also explain why Water 7 kept sinking since it was located not far from Enies Lobby. Notably, chapter #1089 of One Piece shows the aftermath of Lulusia’s destruction 29 chapters after this happened in the manga. It seems strange that Eiichiro Oda would return to an event from the recent past, especially in the midst of One Piece’s eventful final arc. The mention of sea levels having risen by a meter may seem like an inconsequential detail, but it’s actually quite a catastrophic event, and the manga rightly emphasizes that by saying that the entire island The island has been evacuated.
Enies Lobby may have been created during the Void Century using ancient weapons
The hole in Enies Lobby was probably created during the Void Century using the same weapons used on Lulusia. The repeated use of this weapon in that great conflict may have caused sea levels to rise so much that most of the world’s land area was submerged, leaving only the Red Line – the place described is where the “gods” live, and is therefore likely at one of the highest altitudes in the world. This also explains why the Heavenly Dragons overthrew and hunted down the previous inhabitants of the Red Line, the Lunarians. It will definitely be a shocking surprise for fans if the world of A piece looks like that because the Imu and the World Government used a devastating weapon in the past, literally shaping the world to their will.
