After getting some much needed time to relax in episode #1079, it looks like the Straw Hats may be facing a whole new threat in A piece episode #1080. Appearing so soon after defeating Kaido, this could mean that the Straw Hats won’t be able to fight at peak efficiency. However, now that they have the newly liberated people of Wano on their side, that may no longer be an issue.

What happened in episode #1079 of One Piece?
Episode #1079 mainly focuses on the aftermath of Wano’s liberation and Kaido’s defeat. In Wano, it is an occasion to celebrate as the country frees itself from the oppressive rule of former tyrants and prepares to remember their victories and honor those who fell in battle. When all the Straw Hats recovered from their injuries, they also took some time to celebrate and relax in the bathhouse with their friends from Wano. Outside the land of the Samurai, the Five Elders learn of Kaido and Big Mom’s defeat and realize that Nika has returned. To solve the problem, the navy dispatches the powerful admiral Ryokugyu, meaning another war for Wano’s freedom is near.
One Piece episode #1080 will feature a fight against Ryokugyu
With Ryokugyu heading to Wano, it is almost certain that the admiral will arrive in episode #1080 to attempt to bring the country under World Government control now that Kaido is no longer in influence. This would probably be a difficult battle with the average strength of a navy admiral. While fans of the One Piece anime still don’t know what specifically Ryokugyu can do, if he had the same power level as admirals Fujitora, Kizaru, and Aokiji, he would be a force to be reckoned with. Additionally, the Straw Hats are still recovering from the Raid on Onigashima, which may make them a bit weaker than usual even though they received various power-ups during that arc.
Luckily, the Straw Hats also had the people of Wano on their side in that war, so the battle may not have been a big deal. That includes Yamato, Kaido’s powerful son, who asked Luffy to join his crew. This will be a great transition to the next part of the series and mark the end of one of the longest sagas in anime history. Will episode #1080 start a new era of A piece or not, it will still be interesting to watch as it will likely reveal a major new threat that the Straw Hats have to deal with.
