Former World Noble and King of Dressrosa, Donquixote Doflamingo, comes to life in this personalized One Piece cosplay.
Shared by Reddit user Akira, the Joker costume features the character’s signature pink fur coat and sunglasses with red lenses. The cosplayer fully embodies Doflamingo’s charismatic and arrogant personality in the uploaded photo, sticking out his tongue and reaching for the camera as if striking with the power of the Ito Ito no Mi – a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit provide wire control capabilities.
One Piece’s Doflamingo
Doflamingo is introduced in the One Piece story as a member of the Seven Lords of the Sea and serves as the main antagonist in many parts of the story, including “Marineford” and “Punk Hazards”. At the end of the Dressrosa Saga, he is ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of Monkey D. Luffy, the rest of the Straw Hats, and Trafalgar D. Water Law (aka Death’s Surgeon) , and he was eventually stripped of his title and imprisoned in Impel Down.
The captain of the Donquixote Pirates isn’t the only former member of Warlords of the Sea to be inspiring cosplays brimming with confidence and swagger. For example, Katerina posted their photo of the Pirate Queen, Boa Hancock, capturing the character’s splendor. Furthermore, TheLoneiestExpat has reimagined Sir Crocodile through a gender-swapped cosplay very similar to the additional artwork of One Piece mangaka, Eiichiro Oda.
In the most recent chapters of the manga, the World Government and the Marines have eliminated the Warlord system, creating numerous challenges and opportunities for former members. Notably, Sir Crocodile, Dracule Mihawk and Buggy the Clown formed a new organization called the Cross Guild, which resulted in the latter actually being crowned as one of the new Yonko alongside Luffy. Many fans have begun speculating that the trio will begin recruiting other former Lords with some pointing out that both Hancock and Doflamingo will give the group a significant boost.
Oda began publishing his One Piece manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1997, and the ongoing series has surpassed more than 1,000 individual chapters. Mangaka has revealed that the story has entered its final phase, starting with the “Egghead” part, but Oda also stated One Piece won’t end anytime in the near future. Furthermore, he recently reassured fans of the story’s conclusion by refuting the fan theory that the treasures are the friends Luffy made during his journey.
VIZ Media distributes Oda’s manga in North America.
