A couple of One Piece fans are offering a buy one get one free program for the Straw Hat Pirates’ navigator cosplay.
The cosplay was uploaded to Instagram by user Mia_raspberrycosplays, along with Linichii, who takes on another form of Nami. The post included a photo of the couple sitting with their backs to a beach. One wears Nami’s first costume in “East Blue”, the other wears her first outfit after her timeskip, as seen in “Return to Sabaody”. There is also a closer shot later.
Cosplayer Nami Attention to detail
Linichii is pictured in a jeans and bikini top combo after Nami’s time skip on the left. She also seems to have added the character’s Arlong Pirates tattoo on her left arm. However, it was obscured by her hands and her cosplay co-star. She also wears a long auburn wig, revealing the dramatic hair that the character first appeared in in the “Mermaid Island” story. On the right is Mia wearing a sporty Nami outfit during her first appearance in the manga and anime. This includes her yellow mini dress and blue and white striped t-shirt that cover up her tattoo. Mia also wears a ginger wig, but her hair is shorter, giving Nami a softer look at the beginning of the series.
Nami is a main supporting character in the One Piece series. She is the second to be recruited into Luffy’s crew, after Zoro, and assumes the role of the ship’s navigator. This character has become one of the most popular characters in the movie thanks to his heart, stealing skills, engaging plot and humour. Like most of the characters in the series, she went through many changes after the two-year interval between chapters 597-598 (episodes 516-517). One of the biggest is the drastic change in her appearance as well as her increased fighting ability.
One Piece is the work of a lifetime by mangaka Eiichiro Oda, who is married to a real-life version of Nami. Oda is a dedicated author who has been working on the ongoing series since 1997, with numerous breaks for his health. The manga is currently on hiatus as Oda prepares for eye surgery, currently in the midst of its final story.
The Toei Animations One Piece anime is also thriving at the time of this writing, as it is adapting the “Wano Country” part and receiving rave reviews for its animations. Additionally, Netflix recently released the first trailer for their live-action One Piece project, giving a first look at the new Straw Hat Pirates, which includes Emily Rudd as Nami.
One Piece is available to read on the Viz Media website with a Shonen Jump subscription. The anime is also available to stream on Crunchyroll.
