Warning: contains spoilers for chapter #1093 of One Piece. Every new chapter of A piece brought a new wave of speculation and countless theories – some ingenious, others bordering on outlandish – but there was one in particular that involved pirates. Bonney Jewelry may have just been confirmed. That said, the Egghead Arc in particular has fueled many questionable theories, especially with the introduction of the concept of clones and the chaos of finding the mysterious Egghead traitor. However, one theory that has left fans feeling suffocated amid this chaos is the popular belief that Jewelry Bonney is actually a child who paraded as an adult using her Devil Fruit powers and One Piece’s latest chapter suggests there may be some weight to it after all.
The theory was initially fueled by fan translations of Chapter #1089 in which St. Saturn calls Bonney ‘little girl’. Although the official release cleared up the misunderstanding by having Saturn refer to her as ‘just a girl’, this theory continues to gain momentum as fans take notice of the young behavior Bonney’s children throughout Egghead as well as the complexity of her Devil Fruit powers. That being said, Vegapunk said something peculiar in chapter #1093 of One Piece, implying that Bonney may actually be younger than she lets on. When Vegapunk goes to save Bonney, who is trapped in the Fabriophase, he says that he cannot leave the ‘poor kid’ behind. Although the case involving Saint Saturn remains to be explained, Vegapunk’s comments make it difficult to dismiss these two cases as a mere coincidence.
Vegapunk portrays Bonney a young child in One Piece
It may sound far-fetched, but some evidence suggests that Jewelry Bonney is younger than she appears, especially the fact that she appeared in her child form when the Straw Hats first discovered her in the warm whirlpool outside. in addition to Egghead in Chapter #1060. Assuming the seawater neutralizes the effects of her Devil Fruit, that could very well be Bonney’s true form. More importantly, when Bonney turned Vegapunk into a child in Chapter #1072, the ‘experience gem’ seemed to pop out of him, showing the years of knowledge he had accumulated over the years . However, no such gems appear when Bonney transforms herself into a child in the same chapter.
Anyway, like any theory, this theory also has gaps and shortcomings. This theory relies heavily on incomplete information about Bonney’s Devil Fruit, and not only is One Piece inconsistent when it comes to the specifics of the Devil Fruit’s power, but there isn’t much information available. about Bonney’s devil fruit other than that it is a Paramecia type. There is also the contradicting fact that Bonney mentioned visiting Egghead before as a child, although that can still be refuted since she saw her younger self from several years ago. as a child, as children often do.
Bonney is still hiding many secrets
Regardless of whether she is a child or a clone of Big Mom as another theory claims, one cannot deny that there is definitely more to Jewelry Bonney than meets the eye. However, only time will tell how many more secrets there are Bonney already in place, how will these affect events on Egghead and her role in the Straw Hats’ grand adventure.
