Streaming service Netflix added the first season of the boxing anime Hajime no ippo to its services. This collection is subtitled “The Fighting!” includes the first 76 episodes of the anime. While the first 75 films had English dubs, the last film, originally a DVD special, only had English subtitles.
Netflix began airing the series at the beginning of the month, as reported by account WTK which hosts the same episodes and two more.
Netflix continues to grow its anime offerings with classic sports
George Morikawa's Hajime no Ippo is one of the industry's more popular sports and martial arts franchises, combining the shounen formula with a slightly more grounded combat sports, creating a setting that's more accessible to with a dramatic melodrama. Hajime no Ippo is so popular that it even inspired elements of Creed III. With the acquisition, Netflix continues to become a more attractive space for anime viewers by offering this classic series. However, both it and Crunchyroll still offer incomplete experiences, even if it is the most essential part – Hajime no Ipp has a total of three seasons.
