Lotte Cinema announced on April 18, 2023 that it will premiere Doraemon: Nobita to Sora no Utopia (Doraemon the Movie 2023: Nobita’s Sky Utopia), this is the 42nd Movie under the Doraemon brand, in Vietnam on the 26th. May.
The film opened in Japan on March 3 and sold 542,000 tickets, grossing 663 million yen in its first three days. The film has sold a total of 3.37 million tickets for a cumulative total of 4,004,713,650 yen since its premiere, as of April 16.
The film is set in a perfect, utopian world in the sky, where everyone lives happily. Explorers have equated this land with other mythical cities, such as Atlantis or Ryugu-jo. Doraemon and Nobita embark on an adventure to find the unthinkable with the help of a brand-new item from the movie, a time-bending airship equipped with a time-bending function.
Takumi Dōyama is directing the film. Ryota Kosawa wrote the script — his first screenplay for the movie Doraemon. The current cast of the TV anime has joined their cast in this Movie. Ren Nagase of the idol group King & Prince voiced the role of “perfect cat robot” Sonya for the first time in the film.
