Review of Ninja Kamui Episode 2: A surprisingly good anime series was released this season from the director of Jujutsu Kaisen. This is an action-packed thriller anime, so let’s take a detailed look at how the 2nd episode plays out below.
Overview of Ninja Kamui Volume 2
Ninja Kamui is a fascinating Japanese anime series produced by E&H Production and Sola Entertainment, with fine-tuned direction from Williams Street. Premiering on Adult Swim’s Toonami lineup in February 2024, the show has been eagerly anticipated since its announcement in May 2022. At the helm of the series is director Sunghoo Park, in while the iconic character designs come from Takashi Okazaki.
Ninja Kamui first got everyone buzzing when Adult Swim dropped its teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2023. Additionally, the video game version of Ninja Kamui, titled Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins, will launch in the second quarter of 2024.
The theme song, “Vengeance,” by Coldrain, is set as the show’s opening number.
I’ve tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I have to cover in order to give a proper response.

Ninja Kamui: An Untouchable Organization Episode 2 Review and Summary
This new anime came out of nowhere and with only two episodes, it has become one of my favorites this season. The first episode really shocked the audience with its action, mystery and drama, and luckily, they kept the plot interesting even in the second episode.
Here, we finally understand what is really going on and who killed our protagonist’s entire family. What we are dealing with is an organization that trains ninjas who once ran Japan. They did not let their secret techniques out of their clan, but with the changing times, they also began to accept foreigners. But there is one absolute thing in the organization that no one can leave it.
If anyone betrays or even tries to live a normal life somewhere else, they will be hunted down and destroyed. And this is exactly what happened to Joe Logan or Higan, who were living with his wife and children in an American village with technologically advanced masks to hide their identities.
This episode turns the whole story on its head and makes the victim the main predator. Higan is currently in hiding, actively searching for the killers who caused his suffering. He will stop at nothing before he can exact revenge on the clan he once served. But things are not that easy.
This ninja organization has ties to the government and they can stop any news and any investigation at any time. They are strong not only physically but also politically, so it would be especially difficult for Higan to survive on her own without any assistance.
The best aspect of this anime is that the fight scenes are very well choreographed and planned. It’s not too much and doesn’t hinder the plot of the movie. We get a ton of information from this episode, along with a healthy dose of high-paced gore and fight scenes. If you’re uncomfortable with blood, it might seem a bit extreme, but the bloodshed really makes the anime feel cooler and grittier than anything you’ve seen this season.
Additionally, the music design is also very good, as the rap during the fight scenes sets the right mood. Even the opening and ending themes fit well with the nature of the anime. Overall, this is a pretty good movie to have on your watch list.
Identify
I liked this episode and am eagerly waiting for the next one. If you are someone who wants to see something fresh and new then go for it. The director of this show also directed Jujutsu Kaisen, so you can imagine how well the action scenes are animated. The pacing of the show is also maintained masterfully and I hope they keep it like this until the end.
