On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the premiere of the Naruto anime, a global poll was conducted. Namikaze Minato – Konoha’s Fourth Hokage has excellently won first place in the most popular Naruto character chart, with a total of nearly 800,000 votes (nearly 300,000 more votes than the runner-up).
As promised, manga creator Kishimoto Masashi has announced that the winning character will receive a spinoff manga about him. Therefore, with Minato’s win, fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of a one-shot spin-off about Naruto’s father Uzumaki that will take place later this year.
Minato is a hugely popular character, partly because he’s the ninja who saved Konoha from the Nine-Tails’ attack and is responsible for sealing the beast inside his son. Furthermore, Minato himself is also considered a genius ninja, mastering several powerful ninjutsu and developing his own techniques, including the Rasengan.
In the upcoming spin-off manga, Kishimoto Masashi will focus on Minato’s ninjutsu, which means Rasengan will be the main focus. However, the author can still discover more techniques of the Fourth Hokage. For example, the Flying Lightning Divine Art, perfected by Minato from the human arts created by the second Senju Tobirama. Furthermore, Kishimoto was also able to focus on discovering Minato’s life and the Uzumaki clan’s sealing technique that the Fourth learned from his wife Uzumaki Kushina.
Naruto fans are excited about the release of the Minato spin-off and eagerly await more information on the plot, as well as a release date. Meanwhile, people are still discussing the popularity of the Fourth Hokage, his talent as a ninja.
