The production team for the anime adaptation of Jirō Sugiura's My Wife Has No Emotion manga revealed additional cast, staff, key visuals, and the July 2 premiere on Thursday.
The new cast includes: Yoshino Aoyama as Akari Kosugi, Takuma's younger sister, Yū Serizawa as Super Mina, the best version of the Mina home appliance robot series.
The newly announced staff are: Color designer: Megumi Furuya, Art director: Jirō Kōno, Visual composition director: Yoshie Itō, Editor: Yuri Tamura, 3D director: Bibury Animation CG, Beijing Xie Le Art Co., Ltd., Sound Director: Takumi Itō, Sound Production: HALF H·P STUDIO, Music: Kanade Sakuma, Hanae Nakamura, Tsumi Tabuchi, Miki Sakurai, Music Production: Nichion.
The anime stars Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Takuma and Konomi Inagaki as Mina. The anime will premiere on July 2 on Tokyo MX at 11:00 pm JST, then on MBS and BS Asahi channels.
Fumihiro Yoshimura is directing the anime at Tezuka Productions. Mitsutaka Hirota oversaw the script and Zenjirou Ukulele designed the characters. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English and describes the story as follows:
“Takuma is a single guy who does nothing but go to work and come home. Too tired to do housework, he decided to hire a robot to cook and look after the house. 'Mina-chan' is such a good housekeeper, Takuma joked that she should become his wife. Mina takes Takuma's jokes very seriously and gradually the two start doing more things together, such as going on picnics outside. As time passes, Takuma begins to have feelings for Mina, but can humans and robots have an equally loving relationship?
Sugiura launched the manga in Kadokawa's Comic Flapper magazine in 2019. Kadokawa published the manga's seventh compiled book volume in October 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment published the manga's sixth compiled book volume on January 16 and The seventh volume will be published on September 17.
