This is Kojima’s assertion at the State of Play event recently organized by Sony. Hideo Kojima believes that mothers (of gamers) will not be able to tell the difference between PHYSINT (Kojima’s new project) and regular movies.
Kojima described the project as a “strong collaboration” with Sony while also pointing to the Japanese conglomerate’s extensive presence in the music and film industries. Some fans assumed this meant PHYSINT would blend the lines between interactive entertainment and media formats. Kojima repeatedly emphasized that PHYSINT will be an unprecedented game, where cinema and games will become one. “If your mother walks in and sees you playing this game, she will think you are watching a movie,” Kojima shared.
Production is expected to begin “in earnest” at Kojima Productions after Death Stranding 2 and in partnership with Sony, so expect a release on PlayStation 5. During State of Play, Kojima said he “believes” this new game “will be the pinnacle of his career”.

Physint will have “near-realistic graphics”. With the full support of SIE, this new action spy game will use cutting-edge technology and a stellar cast to deliver an unprecedented experience. “Blurring the lines between movies and games, delivering near-lifelike graphics and a new approach to interactive entertainment,” the tweet said.
As expected, Physint will launch in 2026.
