Microsoft closed several studios to “re-prioritize its games and resources”
Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Hi-Fi Rush) announced on Tuesday that Microsoft has shuttered Tango Gameworks, along with other studios. Its titles will still be available to purchase and play.
Microsoft also closed Arkane Austin and Alpha Dog Studios as part of an effort to “consolidate” its Bethesda studio teams and “re-prioritize its titles and resources.” Microsoft is also eliminating some roles within select Bethesda publishing and corporate groups. Roundhouse Games is also closing its doors and their team will be moving to ZeniMax Online Studios.

The company released The Evil Within in 2014, The Evil Within 2 in 2017, and Ghostwire: Tokyo in March 2022. The original Ghostwire: Tokyo It is scheduled to launch in 2021. Its Hi-Fi Rush game launched in January 2023 on the same day of its announcement.
Studio founder and director Mikami left Tango Gameworks in 2023. Creative director Ikumi Nakamura (Ghostwire: Tokyo) left the studio in 2019.
