Mashle Season 2 Episode 4 Review and Summary – The Trusted Companion
This episode begins with the first round of the divine visionary candidate competition. The conditions for passing the exam are quite simple, but the circumstances under which one needs to achieve it are very difficult. All participants are transported inside a jungle, where a key has been hidden inside a Troll-goose fish bladder.
Everyone must locate this bubble and burst it like a magical balloon to get the key and escape the forest. But they will be hunted by three Deadervants, giant humanoid Ram creatures with bloody weapons. Don’t worry, no one will die if they are attacked by these things, they will be kicked out of the competition and will feel excruciating pain.
The whole stadium will witness this competition through 4 Rafflesian mirrors, and therefore, no one can cheat even if they wanted to. The exam started and quickly we realized how difficult it was. After 1 minute of the test, someone tasted the weapon as they tried to hit the monster with magic.
The creatures tasked with the hunt, are immune to magic, and even if one were to brute force them, like Mash did, they quickly revive. So, there is really no way one can save themselves from these monsters, but you can certainly run from them.
Then comes the next challenge, locating the balloons, which is much harder than it looks. There is no way to know the exact location of these things. Our main character wouldn’t have been able to survive this without the help of a really kind senior who aided him at the right time. He is Max, and when he heard Rayne talk about Mash, he tried his best to help Mash during the exam.
Today’s episode was definitely entertaining and funny, especially Mash’s hilarious antics. He even used breakdancing to make progress in the first challenge, which seemed like an impossible and strange stunt. Even the audience who cursed him before were quite shocked by his strength. Also, the segment about the 2nd test also starts off very funny, as we now see Mash teaming up with his friends to fight his other friend.
Verdict
Today’s episode was interesting again and the way it ended will definitely make you feel sorry for Finn. I want to see how the next round will go and whether Mash can protect herself and her friends to the end. So far, this season has been going pretty well and this episode in particular is better than the previous seasons.
