During the discussion of Look Back At Anime Expo 2024, anime director Kiyotaka Oshiyama shared some behind-the-scenes details, including the challenges faced on the international film festival circuit.
Responding to a question about the film's length, Oshiyama revealed that Look Back It was originally envisioned as a project that could compete in global film festivals.
This ambition influenced the storyboarding process, expanding the story beyond the single volume of the original manga.
Despite their efforts, the final product resulted in a film that was about 60 minutes long.
