The June issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that Kizuku Watanabe (Koro Teacher Quest!) will launch a new spin-off manga from the Kaiju No. 8 titled Kaiju No. 8 Relax in the magazine's next issue on June 4.
Viz Media licensed the manga Kaiju No. Matsumoto's 8 originals. The company releases chapters in digital and physical formats. Shueisha published the manga on its MANGA Plus service under the title Monster #8 and describes the story:
A man working in a job far from his childhood dreams is caught up in an unexpected situation…! Becoming a monster, he once again aims to realize his lifelong dream…!
In September 2021, the manga surpassed 4 million copies in circulation, becoming the fastest Shonen Jump+ manga (as opposed to a manga running in Shueisha's print magazine) to reach the milestone This.
The series was nominated for the 14th Manga Taisho Award in January 2021, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award in February 2022, and the Eisner Award in May 2022. The manga is inspiring a television anime premiering on April 13. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs and is also streaming the English dub. The anime is also broadcast on X/Twitter worldwide in real time as it airs on TV in Japan, at the exact time the anime airs.
