Kaiju No 8 Episode 7 review is so good it's annoying. Let's see how the 7th episode of this brand new series plays out.
Kaiju No 8 Episode 6 Summary
In this tense episode, a lurking danger threatens the city, prompting a quick and coordinated response from the Defense Forces. Working closely with the JDSF and Japanese police, they focused on evacuating civilians and preparing to confront the newly discovered Honju. Originally appearing on the Kannawa Fault, Honju has since grown larger and now emerges with a terrifying new goal: reproduction.
The Defense Forces devise a strategy to lure the Honju away from residential areas, aiming to keep them within their attack range for Captain Mina to neutralize. As the campaign progresses, new recruits are sent to the front lines for their first real combat experience. Among them was Kafka, who was both nervous and excited about the mission. Despite his often humorous and unpredictable behavior from the beginning, Kafka quickly adapted, finding ways to contribute in his own way.
Aware of the limitations of his power, Kafka wisely avoided rushing headlong into battle, understanding that such recklessness could endanger not only his life but also that of his comrades. Instead, he utilizes his extensive knowledge of the Kaiju, analyzing the situation and opponents to find effective ways to assist. His expertise proves invaluable for Mina to take down Yoju.
Kaiju No 8 Episode 7 Review and Recap
This episode picks up right where we see the humanoid Kaiju encounter Reno and Iharu. He wastes no time in shedding his human appearance and attacks two soldiers in an attempt to get a human sample to take home.
Although Reno and Iharu tried quickly by analyzing the situation, they were powerless against the monster. Both were shot mercilessly, and in the end, they realized how big the trouble they were facing was. Reno also attempts to contact Captain Hoshina but discovers that the humanoid Kaiju has blocked all communication channels. With this move, the Kaiju demonstrates how quickly he learns and adapts to his circumstances. During the confrontation between him and the humans, he patiently learned everything and recorded it. It seems he is also interested in understanding humans in order to kill them properly.
At first, Reno told Iharu to save himself and call for support while Reno would fight the Kaiju alone. However, Iharu completely disregarded this advice because he could not leave his friend alone to fend for himself. Iharu also begins to admire Reno's courage and sees him in a new light as he tries his best to defeat the enemies before them. He finally accepts that Reno has the talent to become a captain one day, and thus, concludes that he must protect Reno.
Therefore, with renewed vigor and a strategy in mind, they both used every means to destroy the humanoid. But things are not that simple, their bodies are no longer healthy after being shot many times. Today's episode is thrilling because you don't know what could happen to our beloved characters. You do anticipate Kafka's appearance, but at the same time, when he enters like a hero, you cheer for him.
Verdict
This episode also really annoyed me for a good reason, because the outcome of the battle was unpleasant. What's even more migraine-inducing is that our hero can't rest. He is not only an enemy of Kaijus but also of humans and this is a fight for him just to survive.
Overall, today's episode was quite good as it kept you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns. You are thoroughly entertained till the end and end up begging for the next episode because of the cliffhanger.
