Review Kaiju No 8 Episode 4: A new sci-fi action anime is out and we're really excited about it. Let's see how the third episode of this brand new series plays out.
Overview of Kaiju issue 8
Kaiju No. 8 stands out as a notable manga character by talented artist Matsumoto Naoya. Taking on the role of adapting the anime are directors Miya Shigeyuki and Kamiya Tomomi, while the task of writing the script and composing the series falls to the talented hands of Ookouchi Ichirou. Gou Fumiyuki, known for works such as Blue Lock, Mieruko-chan, and Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo, serves as music director. Bringing the images to life is Production IG, famous for its work on series such as Haikyuu!! and Kuroko no Basket.
Regarding the songs, the opening theme “Abyss” performed by YUNGBLUD, adds a special energy to the series. Meanwhile, the ending theme “Nobody” comes from OneRepublic, perfectly complementing the anime.
Volume 4 of Kaiju No. 8 can also be called volume 4 of Kaijuu 8-gou (怪獣8号).
I've tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I have to cover in order to give a proper response.

Kaiju No 8 episode 4 review: Kikoru is about to have a surprise
Today's episode was really good because we finally got a nice and understandable conclusion to the entire competition. At first, we see Kikoru glide through the Kaiju with ease and kill each of them before anyone can touch them. On the other hand, Kafka, despite his broken leg, decided not to give up and convinced Hoshina to let Kafka continue fighting. However, since Kafka still couldn't stand, he used his best friend Ichikawa to move around by jumping on his shoulders.
Ichikawa is definitely the best friend we all need in our lives. Not only is he a nervous wreck, constantly afraid of Kafka revealing himself as a Kaiju, but he's also there to shoulder Kafka's burden, quite literally. So even though he could have easily left Kafka behind on the battlefield to think about his point of view, he still decided to support Kafka, just like he did before.
But it doesn't end here, as we quickly face a devastating situation that completely changes the situation. Something unusual happens and Kikoru is no longer the predator but the prey. She, who has no problem killing Kaijus left and right, finds herself in a dire situation on the brink of death.
Finally, this episode brought us out of the slump we were in last episode. It also introduces some interesting attributes of these Kaiju and introduces the concept of evolution within their circle. In addition, there is also the mystery behind the parasite that has infiltrated Kafka. So I believe that the creature we meet today and the creature that entered Kafka have some things in common.
Another thing I have to mention is how good the sound design of this anime is. The battles are made more epic thanks to the epic music you hear in the background.
Verdict
This episode is definitely interesting and a must watch. Things get more and more interesting with each episode and I just want to witness the moment when Kafka reveals himself to everyone. Hopefully by that time, no one would actually want to kill him upon seeing his monster form.
Above all, we witnessed a good and dramatic battle that you should not miss. It shows that even if Kafka were the strongest being ever, he would still be a humble and kind guy with a heart of gold.
