It's finally time for one of the long-time enemies to meet their end in Kaiju No. 8 Chapter 113. No. 9 has been a constant struggle for the defenses since his previous appearance. But Kafka's direct attack on his core will end him once and for all.

Kafka's dream finally came true when he stood beside Mina and fought alongside the Kaiju, a promise he made to her when she was a child. It was a difficult road for him, first he was not accepted because of his below average physique, and then he was turned into a Kaiju. It took him a long time to get where he wanted to be.

Kaiju No. 8 was pushed to his limits when faced with the combination of No. 9 and No. 2. Even with Mina by his side, there was little he could do to keep the monster at bay. However, he had two trump cards up his sleeve, his berserk-like state and Mina's rifle falling out later.

Number 9 was still able to escape the adversity the two of them had caused him, thanks to the second core. He attempted to escape using the second core as a last ditch effort, but Issao's soul remained within it. Unable to capitalize on his surprise, the Kaiju was once again fascinated by the Human's ability to surpass expectations.
