KADOKAWA has just announced the launch of a new initiative titled'KADOKAWA Masterpiece Comics (KMC)' aimed at adapting classic literature from Japan and other parts of the world into manga.
A KMC website was launched on June 3, 2024 to commemorate this announcement.
The first line of classic works to be adapted into manga includes:
The Silent Karenow by Paul Gallico, illustrated by Katana Sajima, set for release on July 20. The Legends of Tono by Kunio Yanagita, illustrated by Kujiraba, scheduled for release in September. Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, illustrated by Tamaki Nakamura, scheduled for release in November. The girl who transcends time by Yasutaka Tsutsui, illustrated by Hiroaki Terada, scheduled for release in January 2025. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, artist to be determined, scheduled for release March 2025.
