Warning! Content revealed for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 3!Satoru Gojo is one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, but the great third episode of the second season shows that there’s another hugely impressive character that can take him down. That character is Toji Fushiguro, Megumi’s father, who was introduced in the season premiere. But while he has been present in the story up to this point, he hasn’t shown his full strength until the latest episode.
Episode 3 culminates in Toji’s plan to kill Riko, the Star Plasma Vessel. After taking down Gojo with the constant threat of attack, he attacked at the moment when Satoru finally let his guard down, stabbing him through the chest from behind. This isn’t enough to kill Gojo, but it shows how Toji can hide his presence from Gojo’s Six Eyes technique. Toji then reveals that he can summon many powerful cursed objects from his Shikigami, including some that can break Gojo’s Infinite Curse Technique. But perhaps his most impressive skill is his physical ability, which due to the limitation of the Heavenly Yard allows him to move at speeds much higher than the speed of a normal human and can also attack much more powerfully.
Toji’s full monstrous power Let him crush Gojo
All of these qualities combined help Toji defeat Gojo brutally despite the young witch’s powerful abilities. While Gojo’s Six Eyes technique can normally allow Satoru to sense Toji’s presence, Fushiguro lacks Cursed Energy due to his Heaven’s Restriction, which hinders that technique. Also, while Gojo’s Infinite Curse Technique will usually block any hits that hit him, Toji’s cursed tools can pierce it and hit him. But perhaps the most important thing that helps Toji defeat Gojo is his sharp mind and strategy, which always overwhelms the young wizard at every turn.
This mind was able to take advantage of the young Gojo’s conceit and draw him into a position where he was much weaker than usual. It also allows him to trick Gojo into leaving him exposed, both at the beginning and end of the battle. And of course, that was also what led to Toji dissecting Gojo after delivering what appeared to be a fatal blow, leaving the sorcerer seemingly motionless at his feet. Of course, fans know that Gojo may not have actually died since he’s still alive in the future of the story, but the truth is that Gojo lost this fight to an extreme due to Toji’s superhuman physical abilities and strategic planning.
Jujutsu Kaisen Shows Gojo losing to Toji makes him more interesting
Gojo losing this fight makes his character a lot more interesting to watch as it shows he’s not quite as invincible as he originally was. The anime actually made this point even better than the manga, by expanding on Gojo and Toji’s fight, effectively adding details that the manga omitted like in the Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 premiere. These details help to further emphasize the amazing power of Toji Fushigurothe only man who really beat Satoru Gojo in a war so far in Jujutsu Kaisen.
