The play adapted from Fumiyo Kouno’s manga “In This Corner of the World” will run from May 9 to May 30 at the Tokyo Nissay Theater, as revealed in a new trailer that also introduces the cast main tablet and poster.

She will release a new single, “Kono Sekai no Achikochi ni” (In Different Corners of the World), written specifically for the musical, on February 7.
After opening in Tokyo, the production will embark on a nationwide tour from June to July, stopping in various locations such as Hokkaido, Iwate, Niigata, Aichi, Nagano, Ibaraki and Osaka before ending in Hiroshima’s Kure City, the real-life setting of the story.

Ikkō Ueda, known for the musical Your Lie in April, both wrote the script and directed the production of the new work.
J Manga and Seven Seas Entertainment both published the manga in English. Seven Seas Entertainment depicts a story set in 1940s Hiroshima Prefecture, following Suzu, a young woman adjusting to life in the shipbuilding city of Kure amid the challenges of war.
The manga, serialized from 2007 to 2009, inspired Sunao Katabuchi’s 2016 animated film, which received awards from the Tokyo Anime Awards Festival and the Media Arts Festival. Japanese pine.
