The anime will premiere on October 7 at 10:00 p.m. (actually October 8 at 2:00 a.m. or October 7 at 1 p.m. EDT). The anime will run in the “Animazing!!!” programming block on ABC and the 24-affiliate network of TV Asahi and later BS Fuji. Anime Expo screened the world premiere of the first episode on July 3.
J-Novel Club licensed the novel and describes the story:
One day, the supervisor in charge of looking after the Earth became concerned about the distortion when they made a mistake that caused Kaoru Nagase to lose her physical body. Not only that, reincarnating her into another, less cultured world was the only thing they could offer to do for her. Not one to sit down for the sake of sitting down, Kaoru makes a request: the power to create a potion any time she wants, with whatever effect she wants it to have—and it doesn’t stop there, either. . She requests a Magic Item Box, the ability to understand and speak all languages, and the same body she had as a fifteen-year-old girl. Nobuaki Nakanishi (Koihime Musō, Shin Koihime Musō, Kasimasi-Girl Meets Girl) will direct the animation at studio Jumondo. Chisato Kikunaga (Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer!) is adapting Sukima’s original character designs into animation. Takayo Ikami (Penguindrum, Magical Girl Site, Yuri Kuma Arashi) is supervising the series’ scripts and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Dr. Stone all three seasons, Jujutsu Kaisen) is composing the music at Pony Canyon.
Cast members Haruki Iwata and Moeka Koizumi performed the ending theme song “Love is a potion” under the group name harmoe.
FUNA launched the story on the Shōsetsu-ka ni Narou (“Let’s Be a Novelist”) website in 2015. Kodansha began publishing the novel in print with illustrations by Sukima in June 2017.
Hibiki Kokonoe launched a manga adaptation of the novel in Kodansha’s Suiyōbi no Sirius online manga section on the Nico Nico Seiga website in June 2017. J-Novel Club is also releasing the manga in English.
Sukima has launched an official spinoff manga titled Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu! Hanano to Lotte no Futari Tabi (I will survive with poison! Hanano and Lotte’s journey) on Kodansha’s online manga section Suiyōbi no Sirius on the Nico Nico Seiga website in January.
