Well, this is quite surprising as Haruno Takaragi took Umika Konohoshi and Yuu Akeuchi to a secret place below the lighthouse. What leads to them will be surprising…
So upon inserting the key and opening the door, it is revealed to be a secret room, which Haruno explains that her grandfather had somewhat built it underneath the lighthouse.
Oh right, speaking of the lighthouse, it turns out Haruno’s grandfather owned it, so there was no problem building an underground room. But yes, this will be their secret base to build water rockets even though it looks quite strange.
Now, it’s time for Umika and her friends to buy various supplies for their water rocket, from nozzles to the all-important plastic bottles.
And the problem is that they don’t need to buy full bottles of soda, they can buy empty bottles instead. However, it seems Umika and the rest couldn’t find the right bottle size for their project.
Luckily, they found an employee where she was collecting 1.5 liter bottles, perfect for creating water rockets. Now all Konohashi needs to do is convince this employee to give her a few 1.5 liter bottles.
However, Umika is still shy when talking to people. Luckily, this employee decided to give Konohashi some free bottles. She is amazing!
Afterwards, they had fun at the shopping mall where Umika and the rest ate and took pictures at the photo booth. And speaking of Umika, it seemed like she didn’t want to take pictures until Haruno and Yuu pulled her into the booth.
And one last thing, it seems Umika Konohoshi found a poster of a mecha anime titled “Galactic Roar Gunvalion” of which Matataki Raimon is a fan.
Now that they’ve bought some materials, it’s time for them to build a water rocket that can defeat Matataki and convince her to help them build a real rocket. You know, the one with the flammable fuel inside.
And speaking of Matataki, she’ll prove to them that she won’t back down from this silly competition. I mean, she is a natural engineer after all!
But let the competition begin as Raimon launches her water rocket and lands at an altitude of about 105 meters. No return for an engineer!
And now, it’s time for Konohashi and her friends as it’s their turn to launch water rockets.
I must say they did it with tender loving care, even down to decorating the rocket based on Gunvalion’s colors.
As stated, they launched the rocket and landed at an altitude of 110 meters, beating Matataki’s rocket by more than 5 meters. So it looks like we have a-
Oh wait, Matataki Raimon doesn’t accept the results as she prepares another rocket, this time it is equipped with solid thrusters to send her rocket into the air… at an altitude of over 125 meters. That’s not fair!
Of course, that doesn’t stop Yuu from calling Matataki out because come on, she cheated by stuffing explosives into plastic bottle rockets.
However, Matataki Raimon claims that she won the challenge even though she cheated her way to victory.
On the other hand, this is Umika Konohoshi, even though she lost to an experienced engineer, she still wants to meet Matataki Raimon at school again thanks to her amazing aviator sunglasses. Wait, is that all she can say?
But you know something, I think what she said had some hidden meaning because Umika wanted to be friends with Matataki. However, it was brave of Konohoshi to express his feelings to Raimon.
And there you have it, the water rocket challenge which Matataki won (due to cheating) but there were no hard feelings towards Umika, Yuu and Haruno.
Oh, and speaking of Matataki Raimon, it looks like she decided to give her goggles to Umika Konohoshi. Aww, you should have told Umika that you wanted to be friends with her!
Now, I wonder if they still want to convince Raimon to help them build a manned rocket even though the engineer won? So next time we’ll find out!
Oh and one last thing, Yuu Akeuchi tries to read Haruno Takaragi’s mind by bumping her forehead…
…only to discover that Haruno’s thoughts are nothing more than a mystery or a galaxy. Anyway, that’s Volume 4 of Hoshikuzu Telepath. See you again!
