Yozora Mel, a VTuber from Hololive’s first generation VTuber line, had her contract terminated by the agency today after apparently leaking information to a third party, as announced in a press release released by the agency on its official website.
According to the statement, the agency determined that it had become more difficult to continue managing and supporting te streamer, and with consent from the talent, they decided to terminate her contract. With this, her official YouTube channel and membership will be shut down at the end of February this year.

Hololive’s statement on termination of contract with Yozora Mel
Hololive added that it takes this matter very seriously and intends to make further efforts to educate its employees on compliance so that similar incidents do not occur again in the future.
In a separate report, according to Yozora Mel’s own announcement, she apologized to her fans for her “thoughtless behavior” and she also apologized for breaking up with the Hololive members, who were help on her VTubing journey. She added that she will never forget her memories with the company.
Yozora Mel debuted alongside Aki Rosenthal, Matsuiro Matsuri, Shirakami Fubuki and Akai Haato as a first generation member of Hololive in May 2018. At the time of this writing, she has over 800,000 YouTube subscribers and over 700,000 followers on X (Twitter). After her contract was terminated, the remaining members of the first generation also released a short video saying that although they felt “sad” about the events that had happened, they would continue to do so. show content as usual and hope fans continue to support them.

This is not the first time Hololive has terminated the contract of a talent. In 2020, the company terminated the contract with fifth generation VTuber Mano Aloe weeks after her launch due to breach of contract. In 2022, they terminated the contract with Uruha Rushia due to her leaking false information to third parties, as well as leaking sensitive information related to the company’s business operations.
