In the press release, Sunrise also noted that SEED Freedom set a new hit record among anime films with its billion yen milestone. The previous big movie, Mobile Suit Gunda Hathaway, came out in 2021. The movie also grossed more than 1 billion yen, but it took 10 days to reach this milestone with 501,706 tickets sold. That means the alternate universe title Space Age has surpassed the generic Century entry in both time and ticket numbers.
Sunrise and Bandai also held exhibitions and released merchandise to help promote the new film. Sunrise has released merchandise that combines people from the SEED anime with Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty. Meanwhile, Bandai Spirits has opened pre-orders for SH Figuarts action figures of Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne.
Mobile Suit Tsuna SEED Freedom is now available to watch in theaters across Japan.
